If you have interest in a seafood soup, or you any kind of fan of creole, please do yourself a favor and stop by to try to the Championship Gumbo and the Shrimp and Crawfish Etouffee.

We got them as starters and honestly it was the best part of the meal, and we wished we had gotten bowls instead of just a cup of each!

Chicken wings on the starter menu was a big hit also. The service was really good too.

The ribeye was not the best quality and it showed, but perhaps they were having an off day on steak. Also, the club sandwiches were lackluster and just glorified ham sandwiches.

We are going to go back sometime, though, to have the etouffee again!

I researched a ton of restaurants before hitting Beale St. I didn't want a chain restaurant, We wanted to try different authentic foods. This one had some great reviews. What a let down it turned out to be. We went in for lunch on a Thursday. Beale st. was a ghost town as was the restaurant. I think there were 4 other people in the joint, yet we rarely saw our waitress. We kept waiting with empty drinks, waiting for our order to be taken then delivered. I was especially excited to try the fried gator...but they were out? really? So we got crab cakes, Nothing memorable about them. Just run of the mill. We had the BBQ sandwich, the chicken with voo doo potatoes, and the BBQ platter. There was nothing bad about anything, but just nothing particularly great. It actually tasted like a chain restaurant. We expected something really good with the voo doo potatoes, but they were just...mashed potatoes. Kinda bummed. I was going back and forth between this and Blues City cafe, now I wish I had chosen the latter.

It is difficult to find a place on Beale Street but this one can be the best option. The menu is very basic and abundant, you do not will be able to finish your food. They have usually good singers or band, so can be quite noisy if you want to have a conversation. Restroom can improved.

This place had food that was perfectly fine. We were looking for a place without a bar scene and while this had a bar, our family was quite comfortable here for good food. That said, there was no music. They have an indoor stage that was silent, empty, and they had an outside patio that hadn't gotten anything going yet. So for a quiet place to duck in to grab some good food, yep, not bad. I really was hoping for a family dining and music experience on Beale Street and settled for a decent place with no music. Oh, and the parking in the structure was $30 for just walking around and eating. Watch the per hour cost.
