We arrived 15 minutes before they closed for a late dinner. They greeted us warmly despite the fact that we were they only thing keeping them from closing on time.

I enjoyed my meal. I had a seafood platter with crawfish and shrimp.

After reading many of the reviews, we must have been here on an "off" night.

We ordered and they were out of their best rib sauce. I got a sandwich with a different sauce, which was okay. My hubby ordered the gumbo and it just wasn't spicy like he thought it might be (it is supposed to be creole). Our food took a long time to get and the place was nearly empty.

Honestly, it just wasn't great. We ordered 2 meals that weren't cheap, but they weren't worth the $. Would we go back. No - we'll pass.

Went for late lunch on a weekday, Beale St itself was pretty much empty so Johnny G's wasn't very busy so can't really speak as to how it is when busy, however, we were both seated and served very quickly. Food was a little pricey for the portions but that's honesty to be expected on Beale St. Ordered a Ghost River Golden Ale (local brew, try it while in Memphis, it's excellent but essentially impossible to get outside of the area) and the voodoo chicken with an extra side of collard greens (both of which were excellent!.One of the better restaurants on Beale St!

We didn't eat a meal here. We just stopped in for dessert as we were walking along Beale Street. Someone had recommended the fried strawberries. They were delicious! Be sure and try them if you are in the area.

The best seafood meal I had while in Memphis. It is right on Beale Street. They have a walk up window if you just want to get it and go. Or a great interior for eating in. The staff/ service was THE BEST! Waiter was super nice and kept us happy. Fried pickles were AMAZING as well as the catfish po boy... total of 9 of us ate there together and we all loved our meals. The slaw and baked potato salad were so freaking yummy. HIGHLY RECCOMMEND.
