Lochgoilhead is a magical place and well worth a visit. We stayed at Ivybank Cottage, a pretty 2 bedroomed cottage with magnificent views across the loch. It was fully equipped - all we had to supply was food (and drink of course!!). We did not need to use the wood burning stove but we could imagine it must be so inviting on a wet and cold day.

Four of us have just spent a week in this lovely well equipped cottage. The views are spectacular and the total tranquility of the surroundings with the combination of the soft Scottish air made it the most relaxing of holidays,we all slept so well in the comfortable beds. We enjoyed visiting other lochs and villages reached by the wonderful road through the Glens with the one track road with passing places and the rivers running by.(refuel before you get there as there is no garage.) We enjoyed the local Pub and The Shore Inn for eating out, but suggest you take a good stock of your favourite food as the local shop doesn't have much.
Ivybank has a beautiful setting along a quiet private road overlooking the loch; the view is simply stunning. Access to the cottage from the private parking space is normally via a few steps but step free access is also provided which was particularly useful for my elderly mother who also stayed with us. Although one bedroom has step access and therefore not suitable for someone with poor mobility, the other is step free. Also one of the two bathrooms has a walk in shower, which was perfect for my mother's needs. The private garden is well tended and seating and a table is thoughtfully provided. The real thing that makes this property stand out however is its immaculate condition. We have stayed in many holiday cottages over the years and so many places, whilst not necessarily bad, are equipped with the cheapest possible furniture, fittings, kitchen equipment etc and have a slightly worn feel to them. No such worries here; everywhere was spotlessly clean and very well equipped to an exceptionally high standard, it felt as if we were the first guests ever to stay there. Ivybank really does set a very high standard indeed.
Beautifully appointed wee cottage. Great view and tidy garden . All that you need indoors including the wonderful log burner. We were there as part of a large group of family members who were staying all around Lochgoilhead and in Drumsynie . We had a few visitors, thanks for the eight cups, and they were all jealous of our choice of house. Managed to fit in a walk to Corran Lochan, forest walks just behind the cottage, and lunch at the George Hotel in Inverary which was lovely. Would definitely go back just a shame that we could not take our border collie.

I stayed here with my husband and elderly parents. Mum has a wheelchair so we were a bit concerned it would be suitable, but needn't have worried. Level access from the road with just the door threshold and 1 small 4"step indoors to negotiate, apart from down into the double bedroom.
Situation was perfect overlooking the loch and mountains beyond. The sunroom was a fab place to sit and enjoy the views.
Very warm and comfortable. We met the lady who cleans the cottage, she does a marvellous job, so special thanks to her!!
We hope to stay again.
