Lovely well appointed property surrounded by stunning scenery and walks. Rest and be thankful is a short drive and provides some memorable views, the walk up Ben Arthur (Cobbler) is a great day out. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Fantastic well appointed cottage in a great location, less than 50 metres from some stunning walks.
We arrived just before the “Beast of the East” and because of the snowy, windy and cold conditions, we had a great walking holiday. Cobbler, Glen Loin and part of the Cowll Way. After each walk to return to a great, warm cottage was like complete luxury!
The cottage has the best facilities with a full sky package and enough dvds to allow you to binge watch forever. (If you are that way inclined). The outside space would be good in the summer but was snow covered! The kitchen is great with everything you need and more!
Very quiet location and a great place for seeing wildlife. (There was a stag and his herd grazing on the hill right in front of cottage)
Don’t read too much into the previous review, the owner explains the problem well.
We would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anyone!
We stayed for 4 nights Jan 2018 and were very disappointed to find the cottage quite unclean, dirty oily hob, dusty, floors unwiped & generally dirty, smell in fridge. 0utside food recycle bin unemptied & previous guests sexual aid found in bedroom drawer. clearly cleaning had not been done or items would have been removed. Strange also that owners boots, hat and clothes still in entrance hall & wardrobes in bedrooms locked so hiring guests cannot use them (presumably obtaining owners items within) so not enough space for storing clothes during holiday. Such a shame as with more care the holiday stay could have been much more enjoyed and rather spoilt over cleanliness. we ate out as we didnt feel we wanted to clean before cooking etc. Shower room & toilet is downstairs which is perhaps a problem during the night for some guests. All floors including shower room need a proper clean and wiping over. (hand prints /grubby marks on walls visible) Beds are however comfortable and towels were clean. 0wner does need also to fix drip leak from window (room that has no black out blind in) above. We really wish we could have provided a good review but perhaps these issues we mention will be dealt with so as not to disappoint future guests. 0wner was polite when told about problems & offered us a £60 refund having paid 4 weeks before arrival £360 for 4 nights and in January other hotels & Inns are offering accommodation, Kingsize with Bath ensuite as low as £49 in Arrochar
My partner and I stayed for a long weekend in February and the cottage is gorgeous. The decor is lovely and the cosy fire in the open living area is the perfect thing to return to after a long walk or to relax in front of on a cold day. Speaking of which, there are all sorts of grades of walk all around the house and it provides the perfect location for access to the cobbler and loads of other options. The beds in the cottage are extremely comfortable and the kitchen has all the amenities you require.
Will definitely be returning.
