We went there for lunch on Christmas Eve. Everything was perfect. The owners were both very friendly while the woman who served us was charming and informative. The location is beautiful. Very peaceful and with wonderful views across the loch. The road to get there is also breathtaking - either the route via Tighnabruaich or the little road over the higher hills.... The food was fresh and lovely to look at and absolutely delicious. We had local oysters and muscles (moules marieneres) local pork with mash and haddock and chips. Our little one had chicken goujons with chips. Absolutely everything is home made and delicious. The fire was roaring, the owners and staff were attentive. We are lucky to live locally so we will be back!

Food very good, new contemporary look to bar/restaurant and amazing views of Loch Fyne. Outside dining when weather/midges permit and a safe sandy beach for children or dog walking.

We were thrilled to be greeted by charming staff, an airy and stylish interior and stunning views at The Oystercatcher for a recent lunch with friends and family. The staff made our visit, they were chatty, friendly and very welcoming. Aesthetically the room is pleasing, uncomplicated and refreshing. Personally, I found the food quite disappointing, leek and potato soup was starchy and crunchy, we all had the fish n chips which tasted of burnt oil and was very fatty indeed. Skipped dessert as a rude man stood at the bar insulting anyone that walked past. If you can go to The Oystercatcher it’s worth it for the view alone, otherwise it’s nothing amazing.

On our second stay in the area..we finally tried the oystercatcher for dinner.
We had seen good reviews & our only worry was locating it on a dark October night.
We shouldn't have worried, it's so accessible we laughed!
It's a brilliant restaurant with a very cosy and friendly bar.
We were made to feel welcome and had a lovely chat with the lady who took care of front of house.
The seafood is so fresh and so well priced, which is a nice change to the previous local places we had just eaten in.
The Cullen skink was the best I had, the seafood boullebaise was simply divine!
Even the treacle tart and coffee were delicious.
We even went a second time within a few days, we were just as equally impressed!
We can't wait to revisit when we return for new year, hope we can get in.

We returned this year again in October, we were delighted to see that it was still run by the same people. The food and service were perfect and Frankie the pub dog was a delight.
