“A very warm welcome & an unbeatable view!”

19 years since our last visit to Suzys & not a thing has changed! Sadly Amy's day off, but we still received a warm welcome at breakfast time & the lady behind the counter was friendly, helpful & did her very best to please. An absolute joy to see Angus still working hard & chatting to the pair of them brought back many happy memories of family holidays & visits to Suzys as children!

It is a huge shame to see negative reviews on Suzys, at the end of the day you get what you pay for! Suzys is not a Michelin star restaurant & they don't proclaim to be any more than a basic cafe! They offer a simple cafe menu at a very reasonable price & that is exactly what is delivered! Suzys is basic & simple, but is clean & welcoming!

The negative points about Suzys? There aren't any! But I would love to get to work in there & could do a million things to use all of that space differently! (But that's what I do for a living!) Would it work any better though? Probably not!!! It works great just the way it is!

Suzys caters for large coaches, has adequate parking & more than ample seating inside & out. I cannot think of anywhere else that offers this locally.

It would be a huge shame to lose Suzys, keep up the hard work team.

All the very best for the future! The Hodgson Family, from The Old Ticket Office Coffee Shop & Bistro, Knaresborough, North Yorkshire.

We were "greeted" with a grimace by the dour faced woman behind the counter. We only asked if she'd any scones as we'd come quite a way and were desperate for a cup of tea. You'd think we'd asked for the moon. There were 2 of us but as we weren't a "coach party" our welcome was somewhat stunted. (There's a large sign up saying that coach parties were.) The scones were warm but it certainly wasn't butter we got with them and the jam was unbelievably watery somehow. Would give this place a wide berth in future, particularly as the very cramped facilities weren't exactly fresh :(.

Without doubt this is the worst cafe I have ever had the misfortune to go into. It was a cold and wet Sunday that forced us inside for a light lunch having visitor the 'graveyard' marina complex that is Portavadie.

A smell of old fat greets you as you enter a decrepit cafe. We ordered two jacket potatoes one with beans and cheese the other with tuna. I have posted the Tuna photo. The potato was barely cooked, despite the microwave. It wasn't cut open, there was no butter and the garnish on the side had been prepared days ago. In all my years I have never ever seen such a meal. The other potato was also uncooked. The coffee barely resembled its name.

I could not recommend this place to anyone - other than the local Trading Standards who should close the place immediately.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

We parked in the free car park and after a stroll along the lock shore came back for a tea/coffee. Sat outside enjoying the sunshine and watching the world go by. Our drinks were all good so no complaints well worth a stop off if you need a refreshing drink.

Great home cooked food and friendly staff meals were quickly delivered and we could sit outside with our dogs . The meringues are to die for huge portion . Needs a bit of cosmetic paintwork on the outside as looked a bit tired .
