This cozy cottage was our favorite self catering let we stayed in! It was a great home base to explore the area which for us included Oban, Loch Awe, Mull, and Loch Ness. It is just minutes to walk to the Bon Awe historic site and Loch Etive which are worth a visit and not far from Taynuilt. Anna (the owner who lives next door) was lovely and even provided food for our first breakfast. Unlike some places we stayed, the plumbing always worked! Highly recommended!
The Cottage is an add-on to the Owners property, so when you arrive Anna was there to show you around, give you hints on how everything operated. Breakfast provided - we only wanted Milk, so Anna left a rather nice (really rather nice) bar of Chocolate.
The village centre is a shortish walk in one direction (Ian at Grahams Store is the most friendly guy you could hope to meet).
In the other direction is the shore of Loch Etive, You walk along the side of the River Nant, where in the past we have seen cows paddling in the water. We were so lucky to see a Deer in the field less than 20 meters from us.
This is Taynuilt for you - Thursday theough Sunday, The Robins Nest Tea Rooms provide superb snacks. SO - whats not to like - nothing, it was BRILLIANT - Thanks Anna and Ken.
Great little self contained annex. Anna met us and showed us everything we needed. The place was spotlessly clean and had everything u could need. The breakfast pack was spot on and really appreciated the filter coffee ready for use after a soaking wet and chill day in the hills.
I'd definitely recommend this place.
Stayed for one night with my partner and mother on our road trip around Scotland. The cottage is fantastic with everything that you could need and the lovely Anna is most welcoming and happy to help in any way. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
