The views from the lodge is fabulous, right on the water’s edge and to be able to sit on the balcony anytime of the day and watch the landscape on the other side of the Loch change depending on the weather was fantastic. The large patio door meant that you had a great view of the Loch from the sitting room.
The Lodge comes fully equipped with all the necessary things you would need in the kitchen, plenty of tea and coffee was supplied.

We tried the restaurant once for dinner, it was OK I ordered a steak and although it was cooked very well, all I had on my plate was a steak with sauce and chips on the side. The steak did look lonely and the plate looked bare, for £23.25 a little something else to go with it?
The lodges are not cheap, you are paying for the view and you can also use the hotel's pool and sauna. The road can be quite busy and there is a certain amount of noise from the road. This only affects the bedrooms in the morning (rush hour) and not the sitting room. Although the road is screened by trees it doesn’t seem to help reduce the road noise. The lodges are not particularly luxurious, but they are comfortable. The bathroom is on the small side and could be a problem if there are 5 of you sharing the lodge (no separate loo). free Wi-fi, although the signal could be weak.
The Lodge do need a bit of TLC, but otherwise they are very clean and an ideal base to explore the area.

The lodges are not cheap but I think you are paying for the view and the fact that you can use the hotel's pool and sauna. The view is fabulous. We were there in April and it was not really warm enough to sit on the balcony, but the large windows meant that you could see it from the sitting room. I loved the way that we felt we were right over the water and could hear the waves. the only down side is a very busy road over the wall at the back which might be noisy in summer. However it is screened by trees and you cannot see it from the lodges. The lodges have everything you need, but not particularly luxurious. The bathroom is very small. Kentallen is centrally placed for exploring south to Oban, west to Ardnamurchan, east to Glen Coe and Rannoch Moor and north to Fort William and Mallaig. We ate once in the hotel, and perhaps it was because it was the beginning of the season, that the service was a bit haphazard. However we will certainly be back. The location is superb!

Lodge was lovely, very comfortable and cosy. All necessary bits and bobs in the kitchen.

The views are absolutely breathtaking, the lodges are right on the waters edge and we couldn't have asked for anything more!

We tried the restaurant for dinner, it was super busy and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Felt the cost was a little high for a self catering lodge, but it was an amazing experience.

Loved the recycling facilities as well, very nice touch.

Just returned from a lovely 5 night stay in lodge 8 in may 2017. I was slightly apprehensive given the last review for lodge 8 but I cant really agree with that review. The pictures are accurate and I didn't notice any wonky furniture legs. I'm sure the settee and dining chairs are faux leather but does this matter? Everything was spotlessly clean, with crisp clean linen, and everthing you need in the kitchen. Lots of tea, coffee, cleaning products, loo rolls etc. The pitch of the roof does mean that the interior isn't huge but my son is over 6ft and didn't have any issues. The bathroom is small and the shower may not be the most powerful but it works perfectly well. We were really cosy and even in the rain, I was able to sit on the settee with the patio door open and gaze at the fantastic views across to Morven. I watched an otter fishing below the balcony and another pair playing on the rocks only metres away. The lodges are in the grounds of The Holly Tree Hotel which allows dogs into the Captains Bar ( great bar meals) and the lounge area. The swimming pool and sauna was very welcome for aching, hill walking feet and is again spotless with powerful pool side showers. There is plenty of parking and I didn't see any overflowing bins. I did see a guest dump their rubbish next to an empty bin but a member of staff came out of the wee laundry and sorted this straight away. There is a pier to wander out and a wee track for evening dog strolls, south above the shoreline. There is a wall and dense shrubs between the path and the main road for child/ dog safety. The purple rhodedendrons were stunning. It is all rather wild and untamed but this is the point. You wouldn't see otters and sea birds in manicured hotel grounds. I hope to be back for a longer stay as it was such a relaxing, dog friendly holiday.

Room Tip: lodge 1 is nearest the hotel,.

Cabins are a bit rustic but the views are priceless. Amazing sunsets and sunrises. Full kitchen but fridge was small but besides that it was a great place to stop for the night. Beats a small hotel room any day. Staff was friendly and super helpful. Restaurant and bar on property.
