Myself, wife and dog had a great short break here in mid October. Despite catching the end of a hurricane it was nice to walk up the glen and see all the scenery/wildlife. The cottage has a modern kitchen and bathroom, but still retains some traditional charm. The wood burning stove was well used in the evenings. (there was a good supply of wood, unlike the starter packs of some other lets). Great location for those who like to explore on foot or by car.
Located by the river Fyne on a well made private road just up from the excellent Loch Fyne Brewery ( with bar) and Loch Fyne Restaurant it is perfect for stalkers, walkers, nature lovers, artists or people who just want to get away from it all.
Free firewood keeps one warm with a well appointed kitchen you will be snug as you could wish for. Large airing cupboard in case the weather turns wet, which it may!
It is also well priced.
Will definitely be returning annually.
We had a fabulous time and loved the cottage: simply furnished but extremely comfortable and very well-equipped. We felt welcomed by the fresh flowers, tea, coffee, milk and biscuits and also the heating having been left on for us as the weather was variable. We did a little cooking during our stay and found all kitchen equipment very efficient. We also liked the modern hot shower. The cottage is in a remote, very peaceful area to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views from the garden. It's also a great base from which to explore Loch Fyne and Bute.
Wonderful location. Quiet 2 mile approx. drive on private road through herds of highland cattle and sheep - all who demonstrated their right to use the road too!! We enjoyed the solitude of the cottage and the slower pace of life which is essential to gain the most benefits from this wonderful peaceful area. The cottage is very well equipped and the open fire enhances the cosy atmosphere. Excellent refreshments available from the brewery en route from the main road to the cottage. Highly recommend a visit to this wonderful part of Argyll.
We stayed a week at Glen Fyne Cottage, 2 miles up gated track from Loch Fyne. Remote location, lovely views from all windows, and the River Fyne rushing by all made it very special. The morning drive, negotiating the Highland cattle round their feeder, was great fun.
Cottage warm and well equipped, with beautiful, thoughtful books and playthings to keep kids amused, e.g. a naturalist's satchel, complete with magnifying glass, notebook, binoculars, and your own midge net.
