The cottage is conveniently situated a few minutes walk from Portree's restaurants and bars. The property is a good size, with two double bedrooms and one single. Only one bathroom, but there is a downstairs toilet and sink. There is a reception/dining room and a well-stocked kitchen. A TV and DVD with a small varied selection of films. A local co-op is located a few minutes walk away and a much larger one less than ten minutes driving distanced. There is parking in the street opposite the cottage, but spaces in the early evening are quite hard to get. Later it gets much easier.
The cottage is clean and warm and feels cozy and welcoming. We spent a week there and were very happy knowing we would return after a day's
walking and sightseeing. Sue, the owner, is very helpful and friendly and this is a place we would definitely recommend
We found Brightwater Cottage very comfortable and well-equipped. It’s in a great location with easy access into Portree town centre with all its restaurants, cafés and the beautiful harbour. The view from the house (particular the rooms upstairs) is stunning. I would definitely re-book if we were to return to Portree.
What a deceptive house! It may look small on the photos but inside it's spacious bedrooms and lounge are huge. The kitchen is not as big but still plenty of move to move around and loads of equipment. The updaters bedrooms have comfy chairs and sofa to sit and gaze over the bay. The shops and numerous bars and restaurants are minutes walk away. Parking on the front is a bit hit and miss but after 6pm parking in the town centre is free and again only a few minutes walk away.
The cottage is clean and generally well equipped. The heating worked efficiently and it was very convenient to shops and easy access for walking around Portree. The location was good for most of the other attractions. The limited parking spaces meant there was a degree of uncertainty about how close the car would be able to be parked to the accommodation. This was a little disconcerting.
