Food and service very poor, seafood restaurant that had no fish asked for bill, waited 45 minutes then had to go to the reception and queue to pay, over all very disappointed with the quality and value of the food,we will not eat there again and will certainly not be recommending it to any of our friends

Been here many times and I'm certain it gets better every time. Beautiful setting, friendly family and staff who make you feel so special. I'm certain we'll be returning shortly for another dining experience, well done all.

We visited Wildings with some friends for lunch and what a wonderful experience. The choice of menu was unbelievable and we enjoyed everything that we had. We were delayed s!rightly getting there because of a diversion but no problem. The staff were so welcoming and the whole atmosphere was great. Lovely gem on the beautiful Ayrshire coast

This was my 6th visit to Wildings and yet again it did not disappoint. I love the warm welcome, the fact they don’t ask for deposits on cards to hold rooms (a rarity nowadays) the staff are friendly, attentive and really make you feel at home. The rooms are clean, comfortable and have everything you would need with the added bonus of being extremely reasonably priced at £90 per night, which from memory has only increased around 10% in the last 6 years! The food is also top notch, with an extensive dinner menu serving fresh seafood and the breakfast superb, both executed to perfection and again dinner not overly priced including the wine list, which sadly cannot be said of a certain Trump establishment a mile or two up the road! whilst not 5 star it’s 5 star treatment / food so would highly recommend

We have eaten at this restaurant many times over the last fifteen years, for lunches and dinners but this was our first stay for three nights for our Golden Wedding anniversary. The room (No.1) was superb, the food as always, brilliant and the staff are all so very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. I would thoroughly recommend this great little hotel set in the beautiful Ayrshire village of Maidens. Beautiful harbour views from the room and a very short distance from Turnberry golf course to the South and the splendid Culzean Castle to the North. A special mention must be made of Cassandra, one of the front of house staff whose bubbling personality brightened our stay even more! Hopefully we shall return before too long. Thank you Wildings for a truly wonderful experience.

What a gift it was to arrive at Wildings after a very delayed ferry from Belfast. We were greeted at the back door and reassured that dinner was still available even though we were very late. We had a wonderful room, a great dinner, a delicious breakfast and a lovely place to walk and see the sunset. We were on a jam packed tour but we did not want to leave Wildings. It was just what we needed.

Celebrating my 72 birthday... my wife booked a local cottage break in The Maidens near this amazing restaurant. From our arrival we were 'special' and received great service...and then the food! One of the highest quality meals we've experienced to date and at affordable prices, although on this occasion we (my wife!) wasn't concerned!! I'd popped in at lunchtime to check that evening's menu to find that one of my favourite dishes - rack of lamb - was available so I pre-ordered a bottle of superb South African Pinotage (Franschhock Cellar 2018) asking for it to be opened prior to our arrival. and there is was on our table as requested. The smoked salmon starter was first class and both of us had the rack of lamb - cooked pink and to perfection with a red wine juis, accompanied by a medley of fresh vegetables. My wife asked for a variation on one of the desserts - banana in crepes! Could she have it with chocolate sauce instead of the advertised sauce? YES no problem! My cheeseboard came with three adequately sized portions - Brie (Scottish I think), mature cheddar and Blue Stilton. Throughout our meal the service was impeccable and our every request promptly delivered and despite the masks you could tell smiles were there in abundance. We'd dined at Wildings in years gone by and been delighted with the superb food and service and here again we were treated to a wonderful dining experience.

Another, excellent experience at Wildings, for lunch. Food was, as usual, first class, highly recommend anyone to pay them a visit. Visit, slightly marred, by the couple, who, unaware of social distancing, pushed in passed us as we queued

Had a 2 night break here late September. Room was really nice with a shower en suite and view of the harbour. We ate dinner on one night and it was excellent. Breakfasts were delicious with locally sourced produce. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Although the weather was disappointing we enjoyed the sea view and Maidens is a great place to explore South Ayrshire. Would definitely book here again next time we are in the area.
