We stayed here for a whisky weekend and had the most amazing time. The location is beautiful and the house is stunning. Every room takes your breath away with its beauty and character befitting an old house. It is luxurious beyond anywhere I have ever stayed.
Our room was huge with views of the sea and gardens. The bathroom was out of this world with an amazing huge bath and separate shower. There were windows in the ceiling so you could look at the stars while you relaxed.
The food was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. We were spoilt with every morsel we ate.
The staff made the place as they were so attentive friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much to ask for.
It is expensive to go on a whisky weekend but we had the experience of a lifetime with scottish dancing a ceilidh and music by local young teenagers. Log fires sumptuous surroundings and a very relaxed atmosphere. My best ever experience in a hotel.

Glenmorangie House seamlessly combines warm friendliness with an understated luxury. Our room was large, comfortable and spotless with a view out towards the coast. With two staircases I did manage to get totally disorientated (easily done!) but it didnt matter as staff happy to help. The overall impression was of a beautiful country home where we were honoured guests and this was reinforced at lunch, dinner and breakfast where everyone sits together enjoying superb food and conversation. A precious time!

A nice place but ... it could be better.

Yes, the food was wonderful and the grounds are very nice but there were some minor details that would make it a lot better.

First, the staff could be more accessible and second minor things need attention. Maybe it was because we were part of a big group but the "lay of the land" was not explained to us on check-in as it was at other hotels. There was some information in the room but it seemed out of date. I.E. Don't call something an "honor bar" if you are going to get talked down to for trying to serve yourself. Also with regard to the staff being more accessible, at other places we stayed there were one or two key people in charge that we were told to go to. If that were not the case here, it would have been nice to know that. Because there were a couple of things wrong with our room. It was hot and one of the windows would not open and there was a burnt out lightbulb. Yes, those are minor problems. But, it took us 24 hours to find the person in charge to report it to and another 24 hours to get them fixed. (Reporting it to our waiter or kitchen help did not seem the correct thing to do ...)

Room tip: Try to stay in the main house rather than one of the cottages especially if you want WiFi.

Glenmorangie House was even better than expected - it met all our expecations: Each room was tastefully decorated and different to each other. The private dinner was wonderful and service staff very attentitve. The closing of the evening at the chimney fire with a whiskey was perfect. Their private beach is very close reachable (10 minute walk) and truly inviting for long walks along the coast. Our Scotish breakfast was rich and did not lack in anything. We also booked a whiskey tasting which was ok but the guide/tutor did not leave the most knowledgable impression.

A Must-Stay if visiting the distillery which is a 20minute drive away.

Room tip: Rooms in the main house as well the cottages are very nice (doesn't really matter which you choose in my view). All rooms seem to be equipped with Bose sound system (nice!).

This is a special place - we were a group of seven colleagues and very lucky to have exclusive use of the house for 24 hours. We had stunning weather with bright blue skies and when I looked out of the window of our bedroom with the sun sparkling on the sea I was quite emotional because the view was breathtaking.
On arrival we were presented with sandwiches and the most delicious Butternut Squash and Coconut soup before we were taken out to the garden for some clay pigeon shooting. Martin, our host, is a pure gent and reminds me of the character in Remains of the Day. He was so professional yet had a friendly air that made us feel so welcome.
Later on we walked down to the private beach and simply savoured the views and the glorious sunshine.
Prior to dinner we had a Glenmorangie tasting - unfortunately despite my best efforts to appreciate the different styles I had to admit I will never be a whisky drinker. I enjoyed learning all about the history and the distilling process.
Dinner was fantastic and we were treated to a rendition of the "Ode to the Haggis" - expertly performed by the Sous Chef. The dishes were all deliciously seasonal and local - a real treat for all of us.
Sadly the 24 hours went far too quickly and I can't wait to return. However part of me doesn't want to because I'm not sure the second time could ever be as special or perfect.
