“Absolutely perfect for a long weekend away!”
Reviewed 26 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Spectacular views from the sitting room window- wonderful location right on the loch. The apartment was beautiful, everything from the furnishings to the kitchen utensils were top of the range! The owners surprised us with some prosecco- they thought of everythng! Fab power shower too. We couldn't have asked for more and enjoyed our engagement celebrations there. We will be coming back!

“Four wonderful nights at the Boys Dormitory”

The Boys Dormitory and Fort Augustus is a great place to stay for exploring the Highlands. The apartment is very clean, spacious and has that extra something that makes for a special stay. It is wonderfully appointed with everything you need and the views are great across the Loch and the surrounding mountains. The view from the bedroom of the Abby courtyard is also special. The shower, though small, is excellent and a joy to experience after a long day hiking or exploring the region. There are 75 steps to get to the apartment (my wife counted) but well worth the effort.

Fort Augustus is a charming small village with about 10 restaurants (sharing mostly the same menu). But with the canal running through the center of town with the locks and Loch Ness right there it really made it a great place to spend the evenings. My wife and I enjoyed walking down by the Loch, up the canal and around town in the evenings. The location makes it about an hours drive to Glencoe, Inverness, the Kintail mountains and Cairngorms National Park and only 1.5hrs from Skye. I thought it a perfect base for exploring the region.

I would rate the Boys Dormitory and Fort Augustus a 10/10 stay and like others have said, we did not want to leave.

“Beautifully appointed with spectacular views - the perfect mix of modern comforts and historic architecture.”
Reviewed 17 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

From the time we booked it to the time we checked out, our experience with the Boys Dormitory was a positive one. The Abbey's stunning architecture and grounds make you feel as though you've stepped back in time, but the apartment has all the comforts you could want. Gorgeous linens and towels, shower with separate tub, tasteful cushions in the window seats for comfortable reading, cozy couches and fully-equipped kitchen. We even made arrangements for them to have a bottle of Champagne waiting for us, and it was delicious - Veuve Clicquot.

Prior to our stay, the owners sent a thoughtful and very helpful booklet of things to do in the area, which they had printed themselves. The whole thing was top-notch, and we'd recommend it to anyone. Truly the nicest place we stayed our entire time in Scotland.

Thank you for your kind words! We have worked hard to make the Boys Dormitory a luxurious, comfortable 'home from home', and it's great to know when we've succeeded in our goal. Sorry about the stairs - it's a long climb, I know, but the views from the windows are worth it once you're there!

“A perfect destination”

We enjoyed a fabulously cosseted six night stay at the Boys Dormitory recently. The apartment is beautiful furnished, and so comfortable with splendid views that it was difficult to tear ourselves away to do some sightseeing. We decided the best thing was a morning sightseeing, then a good lunch out.more sightseeing in the afternoon and spend the evenings enjoying the apartment and a bottle of wine. This was definitely the right idea.
We were lucky to have lovely sunny weather, although quite cold, but the scenery was fantastic with lots of snow on the tops of the mountains.
We would definitely recommend The Boys Dormitory. Thank you Mark and Laurie.
