First visit here , wasn't disappointed , food lovely ,not a massive menu , but then that's why they can deliver a high standard of food , my starter was good although didn't describe it in batter , which I wouldn't have chosen as my stomach can't take batter , so maybe just a tweak there to describe it better , main meal was very good , although I prefer a sauce of some description , so had mustard , to accompany it , I suppose just down to personal taste, decor smart although I did feel I was in someones living room , a bit of colour would be good , yes will go back , staff were just lovely and food good , so will give it another go for sure , a lovey asset to Crieff , Thank you

Went this afternoon. For lunch. Not been for ages. Stunning. As ever. Perfect haddock n chips. Beautifully cooked genuinely rare rump steak with hot skin on hand cut chips. Gorgeous coconut panna cotta w lime and mango which was not only amazing but also vegan! Thomson’s coffee too and they gave us our unfinished toffee cakes away with us. Total stars.

Stopped in by chance for lunch with my family. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The staff were kind and welcoming as well. We were that impressed we returned that evening for dinner. The high standards experienced at lunch were maintained and we had a thoroughly enjoyable dinner.
Thank you ,you made our weekend ,cant praise you enough .

After eating here several times it just dawned on us why this place leaves us feeling well fed but not able to rave about it! The food is generally very good and portions are substantial, however it was an accumulation of lack of attention to details that irked us - little things that could make a big difference! So here goes:
1. It was a freezing cold night and the restaurant was warm but not "cosy" - it is decorated with roman style blinds but these were not drawn down leaving dark cold windows. We sat next to the functional looking fire escape - a glass door with no curtain or covering - this resulted in a further cold spot - maybe a small radiator would help here?
2. It's a little too bright for evening dining - fine for lunch but just too bright for a romantic dinner - maybe the lights could be dimmed?
3. There was a shortage of menus when we arrived - we had to share until a spare one was available!
4. There was no salt & pepper on the table - it was provided on request then quickly removed for guests at another table! We had to ask for it back!
So overall we ate well very well but felt the place although busy lacked atmosphere - good for a business dinner but just too functional for a romantic dinner for two - had it been warmer we might have stayed longer for liqueurs, coffee, etc.
