We’ve eaten numerous times at The Chraggs (as it’s affectionately known locally) and would highly recommend it for consistently great food and service.

We eat here around once a month and have sampled most of the dishes on the menu, all of which have never disappointed and are very good value for the quality provided. Our favourite mains tend to be the fillet steak, duck and venison and for desert the chocolate torte.

Whilst on first appearance inside the decor may seem slightly dated, it’s quickly forgotten by a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where the service is always exceptional and friendly.

There’s a good choice of wines and if you like your real ale, always a couple of Strathbraan Brewery beers on draft that are really good.

On our latest visit, we went for pigeon and the trio of seafood starters then seafood mains (plaice fillet and mussels) followed by the chocolate torte and white chocolate cheesecake. All dishes were excellent and as always, very generous portions.

Pleasant location in the countryside, pity that the restaurant interiors weren’t characteristic as well.

But we were looking forward to eating langoustines, and we knew that we could find them there.
What a surprise when they served them… at refrigerator temperature and placed on an absurd metallic perch, keeping them cold, and so uncomfortable to use!

We had a very small table, so couldn’t just remove the metallic bowl and place it at reasonable height; moreover, we had to ask for a plate for shells, (again) without knowing where to put it…

In the end: the langoustines were enough good, but little enjoyable because of their temperature.
Service: professional but chilly (like the food).

Price per value: too much all above considered.

We both thoroughly enjoyed the grilled sea bass while sitting in the bright and lovely dining room. The whole meal was delicious and nicely plated. The dessert menu was delightful, especially the torte. The servers were very professional. Would definitely recommend.

Having had this restaurant recommended several times and ignored it due to the external appearance, we decided to try it for lunch today: so glad we did!
I had the trio of seafood: crayfish cocktail, rolemop herring and salmon pate - my husband had soup and sandwich ... all delicious. Mine was so good I added some delicious oysters!
We will definitely visit again as others around us had spectacular-looking seafood platters that I’d love to try! Service was quick and friendly. So glad we decided to visit.

We booked here for a birthday meal, while staying in Aberfeldy. We had pigeon breast (with black pudding and goat's cheese) and a blue cheese soufflé as starters, both followed by seafood platter. The food was absolutely fantastic. We had a nice bottle of Tempranillo for about £19. The restaurant and service were both great. We had a 20 minute walk to and from town which was fine. Would definitely recommend if staying nearby and especially for a special occasion.
