“Lovely cottage - amazing view”
Reviewed 16 April 2016 for a stay in October 2015

We stayed in the cottage with our 2 young children. There was a lovely welcome package on arrival together with buckets and spades for the children - a nice touch. The cottage was clean and there were also books and board games for entertainment if desired.

If you're willing to climb a lot of steps there is a cute summer house with great views of the sea at the top of the garden. We were there in October so it was a bit cold for hanging out there but I'm sure it would be lovely in the summer.

“Amazing cottage, can't wait to return.”

We stayed at the cottage for two nights in October 2015 with a group of friends and we absolutely loved it! We can't wait to return! The cottage is in a lovely location and is decorated to a very high standard. The kitchen was incredibly well equipped, no need to take anything. Lots of games were available in the living area which was very fun. There's no TV but we really didn't miss it at all, old fashioned board games!

The views at the top of the garden are lovely!

Thank you Antonia for your review, we hope to welcome you back soon, we deliberately decided not to put a TV in the Living area to avoid the habit of switching on the TV every evening and to encourage other social activities with our children whilst on holiday, however like most we couldn't survive without the TV and thus reason why there is one in every bedroom!

“Fab few days at Pebbles Cottage”
Reviewed 7 January 2016 for a stay in January 2016

Stayed at Pebbles cottage from 2 – 4 Jan with my husband, son, aunt, uncle and their little dog.

Fab house and location for a couple of days by the sea to blow the cobwebs away.

House is very nice and a lot of work has been put into renovating it to the present standard. 3 bedrooms all very comfortable with TV’s. Mater bedroom is at the top of the house has separate WC and a lovely bath in the corner of the bedroom. Bedroom 1 and 2 are on middle floor and share a beautiful bathroom with a great shower.

Kitchen/Living area has everything you need. No TV but we knew this before we booked and can just about live without Netflix for a couple of nights! Love a real fire but we didn’t find it that easy to find logs (it was 2nd Jan….) but we got some burn in the bag ones in the local Coop. We get our coal and logs delivered at home and started to wish we had brought logs but of course when we left on 4 Jan we saw a couple of signs locally for ‘logs sold here’!

I agree with the previous comment re. comfy seating in the living area. Fine for 4….. we spread out onto the dining table and I guess in the summer you would be outside most of the time and it may not be such an issue.

Good wifi connection.

Great garden with garden furniture/BBQ to the rear of the property with a quirky summer house at the top (the garden is raised in sections) with stunning views of the sea. We had gales and watching the waves was amazing!

Nice 25 minute stroll through the little streets of Cellerdyke along to Anstruthur where there are shops, restaurants, bars and a bank. There was a pop-up book shop which was worth a look in Anstruther. Elie beach is a must. Farm Shop on main road towards Elie also a must to stock up on goodies. The East Pier at St. Monans is also good for food and a glass of wine but doesn’t open in Jan. Fish and chips at lower largo Crusoe hotel 10 out of 10. Popped into the Haven Bar at Cellerdyke harbour for a hot choc, can’t comment on the food but the hot choc was nice. Crail lovely for a wander and pretty harbour. 25 min drive to St. Andrews.

The owner Catherine kept us up to date with our booking and everything was well organised.

We would stay here again and would 100% recommend to family and friends.

Hi, we leave a starter pack for the fire, including easy to burn logs, depending upon the length of stay depends upon how much we leave. If guests which more than this then i can arrange for delivery of additional logs please just send me a message requesting same.

“A Beautiful Cottage”

Our family of five stayed here for three nights over the 2015/16 new year.
It's a lovely cottage; peaceful coastal village with great walks through the quiet streets and along the seafront (and a short drive to St Andrews).
The main communal / living area is spacious, with a great old log burning grate as its focal point. There are four comfortable seats next to the fire - which is slightly odd given the cottage is designed to accommodate up to six people, so there was the occasional debate / rammy as to whose turn it might be to sit on a hard chair or perch on the edge of the couch!
(Note for those with children - there is no TV in this area, although there are in the bedrooms; ours were able to disappear there when they got fed up playing Monopoly).
The bedrooms are well appointed, with an en suite and open bath in the master bedroom; word of warning on this one though is that the bed is located against the point where the sloping roof meets the wall - we had to pull it out a little after I banged my head one too many times turning over in the night!
The main bathroom and shower room on the second floor is terrific; great design and lovely, powerful shower.
The very large garden is also a plus point (more so in the summer, I imagine), climbing as it does up to a lovely old summer house. We found this useful when trying to get a phone signal, although the wifi at the cottage is 100% reliable.
The owner (Catherine) is very quick to respond to any queries, and proactive in letting us know in advance re any issues that we needed to be aware of.
We would definitely return here, and would say to anyone thinking of booking in this area that they would be very well advised to book this cottage before somebody else does.
(We would also recommend the nearby Haven Bar and Restaurant, where we had a lovely family meal and were very well looked after.)

Thank you for your feed back, I am looking for additional seating, that will fit into the property without overcrowding it, unfortunately throughout the East Neuk there is not a great mobile phone reception at present and one can walk into and out of reception easily. I am glad you enjoyed your stay.

“Delightful cottage”
Reviewed 28 December 2015 for a stay in December 2015

We really enjoyed Christmas in Pebbles Cottage. Many thanks to Catherine for the thoughtful festive decorations, tree and gifts. Beautifully renovated home with everything you need. Evenings spend playing board games with log fire burning. Spectacular rain shower and very comfortable bedrooms each with tv. The terraced garden has wonderful views from the top.
