We found this restaurant while we exploring the country lanes near the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. The weather was horrible with dense crowds so we abandoned that task.
The Roark’s Kitchen is AT Ballintoy Harbour, not 2 km from it as suggested by TripAdvisor. The Lane leading to the harbour is very narrow and there are some right angled corners so that it looks like you are driving into someone’s residence. It almost appears that you are driving off the cliff as you approach the coast.
The great thing about the road is that it is inaccessible to tour buses and most tourists are not fit enough to hike down to the harbour! The harbour is extremely picturesque with few tourists. It is a regular location for shooting the Games of Thrones hence the eponymous name of the restaurant.
We had soup and sandwich for lunch, which was perfect on a cold rainy day. The homemade cakes and pies were delicious so be sure to leave room for dessert!
