the location is perfect for walkers and just people chilling, the area is really quite stunning.
the accommodation was clean and the utilities were fine, the bedrooms were large with 3 bathrooms one being ensuite, the bathrooms were revamped and the power of the shower was great.
dinning room was large and accommodated eight of us around the table, ten was possible with knocking elbows. kitchen was fine and had all you needed, the stone floor made keeping the dogs out of the living room easy as a stair get stopped them in the kitchen and kept the house clean.
the dogs loved the cove and swam daily.
I would recommend taking a few board games with you if you get fed up of the freeview tv. the living room fire was easy to manage and also lit easily.
the back garden goes up to a area that is fenced off leading to the top of the hill/mountain, however keep a eye on your dogs if you do put them on this space as ours got out through the next door fence.
all in all a great family week in so so weather in a great location and accommodation. I would recommend this highly. those of my age will love Bovington tank museum.

Reviewed 28 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

Party of 8 adults & 2 dogs, cottage is lovely, comfortable & warm, with plenty of space for all. We had a most excellent, lots of walking, eating drinking very handy pub nearby. Well kitted out kitchen. I highly recommend Rose Cottage.

“Lovely shabby chic thatched cottage in the perfect location”
Reviewed 22 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Homely, cosy property but in need of a lot of TLC. Downstairs bedroom and ensuite entrance rather tight for elderly grandparents to manoeuvre in and out of. Children enjoyed the pool even though we were disappointed it was no longer heated. Made use of the BBQ and log burner. Had some nice big family meals in the dinning room but we were unable to all sit together in the lounge comfortably. Compared to other properties we have stayed in as an extended family feel it was over priced for the overall condition and facilities.

“Lovely location, old cottage charm, very well equipped!”
Reviewed 14 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We recently spent a week at Rose Cottage with our three daughters, their husbands, five grandchildren including two newborns, and one dog. There was a mix up with bookings so we lost a day, but the owners were so apologetic and left generous gifts in the fridge to compensate, as well as refunding one nights rent. The cottage is full of old world charm, with nooks and crannies and loads of space to spread out. We had full use of the pool in the hotel next door, which was usually empty during the day, and there was a lovely garden. The cottage was a stones throw from the beach, with lots to do and see in the surrounding area, I.e. Monkey World, Durdle Door, Tyneham Village, Weymouth Beach to name a few. A great holiday, only drawback was parking 3 large cars, but not insurmountable. We had a wonderful family holiday, everyone finding something to please, and I personally would love to return there one day. I would highly recommend this accommodation.

“Lovely location”
Reviewed 27 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Cottage lovely, low beams, sore heads, small living area, close to cove, huge garden, pool a bonus! Needs a good tidy specially the garden and getting to the the pool . washing machine could probably do with being replaced. Owner very helpful, suppling extra beds, and linen. Parking a bit frustrating specially when coming back from day out only to find a cheeky day tripper parked in our spaces. Oh and the walkers coming down from the hill who got lost and wandered into and through the garden and out the side gate made life interesting (we did not have the heart to send them back up the hill to the official foot path!!) overall a good holiday. Attention to maintenance and dripping tap would have made sleeping better at night.
