Newly refurbished rooms to high standard this hotel has a real sense of history. Delicious breakfast is included in the price. The unexpected bonus of the steam train to Swanage which can be seen from the hotel adds to the overall experience. A great base for exploring the Isle of Purbeck, with RSPB Arne close by for lovers of nature. The village at the base of the ruins of Corfe Castle is a delight.

Called in here for lunch, weekday, and were really pleased with how good it was. We sat in the bar area, had delicious burgers and very good beer, it was dog friendly and we thought it was value for money. It was a slightly drizzly day so we stayed inside but can imagine on a sunny day the garden would be a perfect place to sit.

Parking is limited in Corfe but the pub does have a small car park.

Thank you for your review.

We are always looking at our prices to ensure that we are competitive and value for money. Due to the rise in costs on both the purchasing and staffing side of the industry things have become more expensive for everyone. The staff we have always work hard and on some days we are swamped with the amount of people that visit us.

We hope that you come back and see us again soon.

Kindest regards, George

Went for lunch today. A lot of things sold out and off the menu (by 1 Pm) Food Luke warm and took quite a while to be delivered to our table. The bill was £140 and felt very disappointed indeed. Don't recommend this place at all. Seeing it was News Year Eve, one would have thought they would have been prepared!

Thank you for taking the time to review your visit with us.

We are looking at all of your comments to see how we can improve. More information on the visit would be helpful and you can e-mail me on George@bankesarmshotel.co.uk so I can look into it further. The amount of the bill can depend on the amount of people at the table etc, but we are always happy to look at what can be done to make the experience better.

New Years Eve is a very busy day of the year. Not only are you running a daytime service but also preparing for a 6 course function in the evening, live band and hundreds of revellers so everyone is stretched to the limit. This isn't meant to be an excuse as we want every service to be as good as it can be and you can see from the majority of reviews that we get it right.

I hope that you will try us again and see why it is all so positive.

Kindest regards, George
