“"He" found us in "Stable Cottage"”

Santa that is!! We were lucky enough to book Stable Cottage for Christmas. What should have been 4 people became 6 when we took my elderly parents with us last minute. What a lovely welcoming place to stay. So very well equipped and well placed for venturing out along the Jurassic Coast. We loved the open plan seating/kitchen/dining area. For anyone that has hosted Christmas often the cook gets forgotten and gets left shut in the kitchen. The whole cottage was very warm and I have to admit this was one of my worries when we knew we were taking Grandad with us but we needn't have worried it was super cosy. There was nothing we needed. Having stayed in a variety of self catering places before we took things like kitchen antibacterial and kitchen rolls, extra loo roll, bin bags etc, just little things, but to our surprise all of the above mentioned were supplied. We took M & S food to make life simple for us and this worked a treat too, needless to say the dishwasher came in very handy too. We managed a visit to the George pub in the village Christmas lunchtime, everyone was very friendly and the atmosphere was great. We had dinner at the Anchor too which was to die for. All in all a very successful Christmas around and won't be forgotten. Thank you to Carroll and Simon for allowing us to enjoy their "Stable" and for the Christmas goodies which were not expected but very gratefully received and devoured lol.

Dear Janet, Thank you so much for your review. We hadn't appreciated the issue about being shut in the kitchen on Christmas day so really pleased it meant you could have a proper family Christmas! The cottage was also left in very good condition so the cleaner has also asked me to pass on her thanks! Thank you once again for taking the time out to review the cottage.

After an 8 hr drive we were delighted to arrive at Stable Cottage. It looked exactly like the photos. The owners had even left wine, beer and milk which meant we could relax straight away. The cottage is central for all locations. The rooms were well laid out and the beds were very comfortable. We aimed to eat and shop locally. I can recommend Felicity's farm shop and The George Inn.

“A wonderful cottage ”

We were lucky enough to find this fantastic cottage in time to book it for the May bank holiday - and we can't recommend it enough.

After perfect days walking the coast paths between Bridport and Lyme Regis, it was a beautiful and relaxing base to return to in the evenings.

It is perfectly situated to explore the area and there are some great pubs within short walking distance to treat yourself to a well earned beer and impressive food at the end of the day.

If you are unsure, don't be, Stable Cottage will not disappoint!

“Superb location and well appointed!”

A great cottage, well appointed with supremely comfortable beds. It's only a stones throw from the beach and what a beach it is!
We had a great week exploring the coves and bays of West Dorset - Eype is well worth a visit as is the walk up Golden Cap. The owner, Carroll had great advice about local hospitality - the Anchor is a beautiful pub on the beach with good food and fine ales and the George, just a few minutes walk away, serves great food and beers - pizza night Thursday) was very good indeed.
Take Carroll's advice if going to Lyme Regis - leave the car behind and get the bus; much less stressful than trying to park!!

All in all we had a wonderful week - the only downside was the noisy dishwasher; put it n when you're going out!
