“Stunning long sandy beach. Great surf!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2012

This is a very popular beach on the North Devon coast, great for surfing and body boarding. There are loads of places to hire equipment cheaply (£10 for two hours board & wetsuit). But it does get a bit crowded in the waters on a sunny day.

“Brilliant Family Beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 June 2012

The beach itself is very clean and offers a diversity that should please everyone. The North end is close to the amenities, rock pools, kids attractions - dig in here and have a great day with the kids whatever age. I am not a surfer, but you can see from the VW camper vans everywhere that it is a haven for those that do. The south end of the bay is quieter, more sand dunes and if you want that 'isolated' feeling of a lonesome beach without the amenities.

Just into the town you have all manner of small shops, a small fun area with mini golf and rides for small children. A few nice bars and good food all around.

Young or old, this is a lovely beach - been coming here for years.... you will love it too.

“Wonderful Woolacombe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2012

This was our first visit to Woolacombe Beach and we will definitely back. One of the cleanest beaches I have been on, gorgeous sand and long and wide. Extremely popular for surfers, the shops around the beach area all reflect this lifestyle. Parking is reasonable at £6 IF you want to stay all day, otherwise the only other option is metered parking on the road above the beach where it's basically £1 an hour. However this gets taken up very early in the morning so chances of finding a space here later in the day is slim-to-none. My advice? Get here early! Nice cafe next to the beach, does lovely sausage sandwiches plus there are food vans on the beach during the day. Great for rockpooling with the children.
