Another brilliant week here

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 4 Nov 2015via mobile
We are just back from a lovely week at these cottages
We stayed in Corncott, it was so comfortable, with high standards in everything
The kitchen was fitted out with top notch crockery, equipment, dishwasher, fridge, bread maker etc etc etc everything you need was there and more including a homemade cake, fresh bread in the bread maker with butter and jam in the fridge
The bedroom was very comfortable with a oh so sink in bed
The bathroom was knitted out to a very high standard
The grounds all 52 acres, included 2 fishing lakes, plenty of trials to walk around and a pack of friendly Alpaca's, there were ducks, hens and a goat too
It was lovely listening to the Brook running through the grounds
The area was safe with secure parking which we liked very much, all enclosed within automatic entry gates
The owners Kate and Bob Boothby are very welcoming and nothing is any trouble and very approachable
We have been going to Millbrook since 2005 and just love the peace and tranquility there
It is a great base to explore Devon and Cornwall
We wish them and everyone at Millbrook (staff) a very merry Xmas and will definitely return back next year

There are so many reasons why we love Millbrook. Having stayed there several times in recent years, one thing that's struck us is the attention to detail and the constant improvements they make.

It's clear that the owners, Bob and Kate and all of their staff work incredibly hard to make the grounds and accommodation as perfect as possible. It's just such a pleasure to spend time there.

I understand that they invest all money back into the Estate and this is obvious. Every time we return there are changes - sometimes small, sometimes significant - but always for the better and always to improve the experience of staying there.

Everyone is so friendly and helpful. It's also obvious that they all love what they do and that they're proud of what they've achieved and happy to be there.

We're always asked to make suggestions for improvements. One of the biggest compliments I can make is that we've genuinely never been able to think of anything!

Can't wait to visit again soon.

We have just returned from a perfect week away in the Wheel room. From the moment we entered the Millbrook estate with its beautiful well kept grounds, gorgeous river with ducks and chickens roaming around I knew we were in for a treat.
We were greeted with the smell of fresh bread baking and a Victoria sponge cake. The wheel room has everything you need for a comfortable week away. The bed was so comfortable with a TV in the bedroom and the smart TV in the lounge area with catch up TV and even Netflix or Amazon Prime!
We spent our days driving to the gorgeous beaches in north Devon for dog walks and going for lunch in the country pubs. We spent most evenings in the hot tub which was a magical experience. You are provided with dressing gowns and towels especially to take to the hot tub. The hot tub is situated inside a cabin which was very romantic with stars on the ceiling that light up, a sound system with plenty of CD's provided and the option to plug my iPod in.
We took our dog for walks around the Millbrook estate which has a lovely woodland walk and acres of land to explore.
I highly recommend this place and we will be returning very soon.

We stayed in Rose Cottage for our honeymoon after our wedding at Millbrooke. We can only describe our stay as truely magical, from the moment we walked in the door . The attention to detail in the the cottage was first class the smell of baking bread , gorgeous smelling scented candles and a welcome cake on the table . The only thing missing was a clock that stood still so we could stay a bit long . We will definitely be back to try the other cottages . A truly wonderful experience.

Room tip: Have only stayed at Rose Cottage but the reviews look really good on the other accommodation

My partner and I stayed in Pulley Mill for 3 nights. It was absolutely perfect! Upon arrival we were greated by chickens, ducks and a cat! Then once in our accommodation we found freshly baked bread in the breadmaker, a welcome cake and several really handy things for our weekend (butter, oil, spices).

My mum got married in the summer house the next day and the staff couldn't of been more attentive and helpful. The whole day flowed smoothly, even down to Steve the local cabbie picking us up and dropping us at Highbullen for an amazing dinner. Steve has to be booked in advance though and he is the only cab driver in the area (other ones charge a big fee for driving out).

The hot tub hut was relaxing and had a variety of music to choose from. The rest of the grounds are amazing! We would love to stay again, maybe when it is a bit warmer next time! I would 200% recommend going to Millbrook!
