'The view' is a light and airy apartment in immaculate condition with great views over the sea. Although the apartment is tucked away in a quiet little oasis it is only a short walk (5 mins max) from woolacombe town. The apartment is very comfortable, spotlessly clean and very well equiped for all you need for your stay. The view from the main room / kitchen / dining area and from the balcony is quite mesmorising.
The owner of the property (Suzi) is incredibly helpful and clearly takes pride in her property.
A visit to the little cafe on Barricane beach (3-4min walk away) is a must. They serve the most amazing Sri Lankan curries which can be enjoyed sat on the beach whilst watching the sun go down over the sea............beautiful! (Take your own drink as not liscensed)
When returning to woolacombe / Morthoe we will definately be booking 'The View'
Fabulous View, lovely apartment. High standard accommodation and it had all we could ever need. The view and been able to sit right next to the window would make even a winter stay worthwhile.
Fantastic location and wonderful apartment, with everything catered for. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay from watching Storm Brian to a magical evening of a sunset dipping into the sea. A definite gem, we will be back soon.
Great apartment, great location. Spotlessly clean and treats when you arrive. Safe for two young children, and the views are excellent. Will certainly be coming back very soon.
A wonderfully kept property. Very bright and airy, everything was well maintained and there were no signs of dilapidation. Both bedrooms are of a decent size with extremely comfortable beds and clean bedding. The en-suite in the double room is compact but offers just the right amount of space for one person at a time (however the larger gentleman like myself would be better advised to use the shower in the family room as the door to the cubicle is rather narrow!), while the family bathroom offers a bit more room to work in.
We arrived in the open plan lounge/kitchen area (which was far bigger than the photos made it appear) to find a lovely handwritten note from Suzi advising of a minor drip from the shower which she had discovered and arranged a plumber to attend to, which he did very promptly. There were a selection of treats left for us, including a bottle of wine, some Borders Dark Chocolate Ginger biscuits (my favourites!), some Lindt chocs (my sister's favourites!), some Haribo and then some of the usual teas/coffees/hot chocs as well as a pint of milk in the fridge. Again, everything was wonderfully clean. There were all the necessary utensils and a whole lot more than I'd usually expect, even down to some washing tablets for laundry and dishwasher tablets. The sofa in the lounge is clearly very decent and not the cheap uncomfortable type with horrid steel frames that you often find.
There was a wide selection of books, board games and DVDs to watch. The TV was a good quality Smart TV with a number of apps (including a Netflix subscription). The provided wi-fi was very handy as O2 signal is non-existent with in the property (obviously not the owner's fault) so that is useful to facilitate Whatsapp phone calls. The speeds were a little slow at times but that's to be expected in relatively rural locations. The main window with the sea view really is rather spectacular, with two very comfortable rocking chairs to sit and relax in. The balcony outside is ideal for 2-3 people to sit on and it was wonderful to sit and eat breakfast out there in the morning.
The locale is wonderful and it is just close enough to central Woolacombe to be accessible, yet far enough out of the way to be incredibly peaceful. There are a number of convenient shops within walking distance and many nice places to eat and shop within a short driving distance (Ilfracombe and Barnstaple were the places we used for this). The beach at Woolacombe is absolutely stunning and there is also a small, secluded little beach just down a set of stairs you can see from the property. This is a wonderful little place, though best experienced when the tide is out as it may be risky to traverse when the waves are crashing around the rocks.
The parking was great, easy enough to access and well out of the way, so feeling safe and secure. It is also literally about six steps from the front door, something which is always appreciated when unloading/loading all your luggage from the car!
I really can't fault anything about our stay and am eagerly anticipating a return visit a bit later in the year in 2018 when the weather will hopefully be a tad warmer!
