We stayed at the Arundell Arms for just two nights. Unfortunately the circumstances for us wasn't great as our dog who should have been with us was hurt in an accident. However in saying that the staff were very kind and the whole atmosphere of the hotel very soothing. We were luck enough to have a morning with Roy giving my husband a fly fishing lesson. He made our stay, his humour, kindness and patience in such wonderful surroundings was just the tonic we both needed. We eat the first night in the bar area, okay but nothing special. Fairly typical pub food. For our second night we went up the road to the Lifton Arms Hotel and had a wonderful meal. We just wanted something a bit more casual than the main restaurants in the Arundell. Under different circumstances we would recommend this hotel even though our room was rather small for the money.

Firstly i would like to add that i never write reviews, however i feel that it would be an injustice to this hotel/staff if i did not.

From the moment i stepped inside the doors of the Arundell Arms i instantly knew it was the perfect location and venue for our wedding, however it was the general 'feel' of the place that made us book it. Alex instantly put my mind at rest and was able to discuss any matters as and when the arose.

Our wedding went without fault, which was due to the committment, professionalism and service from the staff, paying particular mention to Alex, Mervin, Claudette, Jasmin and Sue. Nothing was too much trouble for these members. The staff went above and beyond ensuring our guests were comfortable and accomodated (even helping to assist when a guest had a wardrobe malfunction).

The food was superb, the five courses for our wedding breakfast was beyond expectation and the evening buffet was plentiful and ultimate quality.

I would urge anyone thinking of booking to stay, dine or get married at the Arundell Arms to do so, you truely will not be disappointed.

Finally, i would like to thank Alex for everything, he helped us from start to finish, ensuring everything was perfect. Our wedding wouldnt have been the magical day it was without Alex's input and the help from the staff, thank you all so much.

Kind regards,
Rachel and Cameron

Thank you so much for your kind words. On behalf of myself and all of the staff who worked over your wedding weekend I can honestly say we also had a really fun time. From start to finish your guests were great fun and it was an absolute pleasure to serve and work with you all. We were also delighted to see you when you both returned to the hotel for lunch last week so quickly after your big day! Once again thank you, and again congratulations from everybody here at The Arundell Arms! We very much look forward to welcoming you back here soon!

Stayed here with my husband in a double room for a friends wedding. We got a wedding rate and paid £140 (normally £180) . The hotel is definitely not worth the money. For that price I you also pay for facilities, there are no facilities here. The room was 2 single beds with single duvets pushed together. Very dated, but it was clean. I expected a larger and bigger room for the price. The kettle did not work and when asked for another one, it seemed to much trouble for the staff to bring it. The bar does not sell pints of beer, you have to go to the pub. Nice location though, and nice surrounding and gardens. The breakfast however,. was excellent. Overall, the hotel was good, however not worth the £140 we paid, let alone the full room rate at £180.

I am pleased that you rated the hotel overall as "Good" and the breakfast as "excellent" and also enjoyed the location and surroundings.

I am sorry that you felt the hotel was poor value though. You stayed for one night only, a Saturday at the end of July in peak season. We offered a discount for the wedding party and although you only booked on the Tuesday before, we honoured this rate. You actually had the last room available in the hotel and sadly that's why we could only offer you a twin not double room.
You commented on your room being clean but dated. This is surprising as all of our rooms have been updated in the last 12 months with flat screen digital TVs, Free WiFi, new bedlinen, duvets and pillows and many rooms have been redecorated and had new carpets.

Beer is served in the hotel bar in pint glasses from pint bottles. We have 5 different ales and 5 lagers available. Our pub is just 30 yards from the hotel bar and we serve 8 beers, lagers and ciders on draught including 3 real ales.

I am sorry that a replacement kettle was not brought to your room if it had been requested.

We came here to celebrate my fishing obsessed husband's birthday. The fishing side of things is really well organised and the ghillies offer friendly and helpful advice. The hotel has three food offers ranging from pub grub through to fine dining, we tried all of them and in each case found them to be excellent, serving really good fresh food with good service. This is not a hotel for the uber chic crowd who enjoy minimilism and / or bling. This hotel is super relaxed and comfortable in a country house style but without pretension. Lovely warm service from all staff, reception, bar and restaurant and housekeeping. If you crave wide screen TVs however you are in for a slight shock as most of them are about the size of a lap top! Apart from this really good. We will be back!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room that overlooks the cockpit / garden as the others look over the road at the front or the roofs of lifton at the back.
