Domino's is the obvious comparison to make to Pizza Planet. Clearly Pizza Planet is the only such option available in the Kingsbridge area and so they could be forgiven for producing a lower quality service. With this in mind, the Pizza Planet experience is exceptional, within the realm of takeaway pizza. Pizza Planet makes Domino's pizzas look as if they have a toppings shortage. Without exception, the pizzas produced by this sole trader put its multinational competitor to shame; packed full of toppings on a base that also surpasses the comparatively dry counterpart from Domino's. None of this is by any means to say that Domino's pizza is lamentable, but that offered by Pizza Planet is superb. A Domino's chain would likely outcompete the local store on price were they to come into competition, but in the absence of any competition, Pizza Planet's prices remain relatively high for what it is, but by no means unreasonable. In addition to the food, the front of house staff deserve mentioning for their friendly, though not overbearing demeanour. The owner, who leads by example in this setting, is not only very easy to talk to, but interesting to talk to and exceptionally knowledgeable about the local area, if not a little opinionated. Still, the quality of the service is greatly enhanced by the conversation offered if you do choose to wait for your order: something unique to this establishment in my opinion.
