Cottage, furnishings and location lovely, exceeded expectations
Best cottage I've stayed in.
Very friendly and warm welcome by owners to us and three dogs.
Variety of places to visit locally.
A relaxing holiday that I hope to repeat.

Liked best: welcome made us completely relaxed from start of holiday.
Liked least: shower screen would be useful, wifi was a tad frustrating to begin with.

Myself, my husband, our two children and our puppy stayed here in early august. It was exactly what we needed a lovely quite little cottage in the middle of the beautiful North Devon countryside. Away from other holiday makers, yet in good spot to be able to travel for short journeys to all the wonderful beaches and attractions in North Devon.
Tom and Charlie and their dogs were so warm and welcoming to all of us. They honestly could not do enough, fresh eggs and a bottle of red wine was left out on our arrival, their knowledge of where to go and what to do was invaluable. At one point both my children invited themselves into Tom and Charlie's cottage and they were completely unfazed.
Tom looked after our puppy on two of the days for no extra charge, so we could go and explore places, she wasn't allowed.
The cottage was clean and well stocked, the only thing missing for me was a hairdryer. The wifi was unreliable which was a shame.
The garden was huge, with a little field to the side. They had chickens and ducks, my daughter even collected some eggs with Tom. The outside space was fantastic for the children and puppy. ( I think she enjoyed herself the most).
Charlie baked cakes for us as well, and supplied ice cream to go with, the lemon drizzle cake was to die for.
The cottage does feel private, yet Tom and Charlie are very approachable. Thier hospitality helped to make this holiday really special. I would go again tomorrow if I could. The only spoiler was the great British weather.

Management Response

Very pleased to say the superfast broadband has finally come to Kentisbury. Should all be up and running by mid-September so the wi-fi will work properly at last.

Hooray!

Myself and daughter took my Mum and Aunt for a North Devon holiday, choose it because of photos, write ups and dog friendly. We were not disappointed in any way. Tom and Charlie very thoughtful and informative about local area. Their pets all fantastic, would be ideal for young familiy holiday, beaches about 15-20 mins car drive. Ideally situated to explore all aspects of the area. Highly recommended, car required.

Liked best: Customer care, cottage setting,
Liked least: Shower in bath, could be awkward for mature or tall visitors! This was no biggy but the only thing we could think of in this category

The cottage is beautiful and brilliantly equipped with all you could need. Very warm and cosy with lashings of hot water.Comfy bed and loads of storage. The outside space is superb , with stunning views, and geese, ducks and other assorted wildfowl strutting their stuff.
Very handily placed to explore all that North Devon has to offer.
The hosts are just next door should you need anything, but the cottage is very private.
Lovely people and I'll be going back as soon as I can!!
My dog,Daisy, had a lovely time too :-)

“Lovely rural location perfect for a quiet break”

My family (husband, teenager and toddler) booked Sandpark so that we could visit relatives in the area. The house is very comfortable (unless you are very tall and unable to look where you are going as the beams are low in the kitchen area) and the location very pretty. The owners were very kind and helpful as well as patient with my toddler and his noisiness. There are geese and ducks in the fields adjoining and the owners have two lovely old dogs who are kind to small children and teenagers alike. There is a barbeque which sits nicely in a sun trap by the entrance. All in all we really enjoyed our stay. The only comments my husband/teenager had to say was that the wifi was weak in the living room (not in the dining room, it was fine there) and they are both tall so they both bumped their heads in the kitchen (but only the once, they learned from their experience!). That to one side we will definitely go back. A lovely place to stay.
