Just stopping in Ashburton for a quick cuppa before heading on our way back to Kent. Right opposite the car park...sign saying oldest tearoom in Devon, had to stop and see. Lovely and quaint decor, great background music with friendly hosts (photo) and real tea leaves did my earl grey, which was delicious..you could actually get your finger through the handle! Of my lovely China tea cup and the pastries were yummy too. Perfect

Great company, lively chat and good wholesome food - what's not to like... Dave and Steve offer a really good all round cafe. We visit so regularly we might as well move in!

My husband and I popped into this cafe when we were driving through Ashburton on our way to Bath. This lovely cafe did not disappoint - charming and cute decor, lovely owners running the cafe, a charming little white staffy and delicious food! I would highly recommend this spot next time you are in the area.

The Studio Teashop is a quirky little bubble of escapism.
Tired of mundanity, conformity and the day's drudgery? Want to free yourself from it all for just one measly, cotton picking moment?
Nowhere in Ashburton wraps you up in oddballery like this place.
It's akin to falling into Alice's rabbit hole, the walls and shelves groaning under the weight of decades worth of teapots and fascinating tchotchke.
The menu offers a plethora of eat-me-drink-me options. Eat too many of their delectable cream teas though and you're guaranteed to grow like Alice. Just outwards rather than upwards!
All of their food comes in good sized portions and is presented beautifully. From sandwiches and crumpets to soups and pasta dishes via cakes a plenty. You're unlikely to leave hungry.
You'll be dining amongst others, mainly locals, in a small room. So what begins as a private conversation on one table often ends up including everybody in the vicinity. It's like chatting with a bunch of good people in your own living room.
Steve and Dave as your most excellent hosts will provide all you require along with sparkling wit, banter and rugged good looks as always and you'll be waited on by the adorable resident Staffy, Miss Pickles.
When I said waited on, I mean if you have food, she will literally wait... with her chin rested on your knee, doleful eyes gazing up at yours. She wins first prize for art of guilt tripping every time.
Highly recommended. Give it a go!
