This was a great place to spend some family time really close to the sea. The ever changing seascapes are fantastic. Getting to Bigbury on Sea is a challenge itself with the only access road being narrow and single track in places. From the apartment block, it is an easy stroll across to Burgh Island to the Pilchard Inn at low tide (great fish and chips). In fact, the tide only covers the cause way for around 2 hours either side of high tide, so no real need to take the tractor. The beach is really clean and the sea had enough surf for the teenagers to body board while being calm enough to have a go at stand up paddle boarding. The apartment complex has a small but useable gym and swimming pool and a small bar/restaurant. Food in the restaurant was ok with the highlight being the ice creams. The apartment itself was well appointed, very clean and comfortable. Only downsides were hot water which was preprogrammed to be on overnight and not sufficient to be able to give 2 adults and 2 teenagers a morning hot shower and no signal on either EE or Vodafone networks (although that might be a good thing). Wifi kept the teenagers happy on Netflix binges at night as there is nothing else for them to do after dark. Great place and location. Just sort the hot water and we could be back.
