Primary positive on this rental is the location. Very quiet spot, 60 seconds walk to the sea front/harbour. Perched on the front face of the hill with views across the harbour, sea, and on to the coast of France from both the bedroom and living room. It really is what you see in the pictures. Great for walking; directly between two lovely cliff paths heading East and West along the coast with plenty of wildlife (some of the most interesting walks we have done in the UK).
Chalet itself is simple, but comfortable, having everything you would expect (or need) for a short stay.
Only slight negative for the stay here being some 'well worn' cushions malting their tiny feathers all over the living room and setting of allergies - humour not lost given the pet ban due to potential allergies!
We stayed at the Waters Edge self-catering apartments last week - our group consisted of myself, my husband, my daughter and my mother-in-law with ages ranging from twenties to seventies.
On arrival last Saturday (we had arranged our own transfer from the airport), we received a very warm welcome and were shown the easiest route to the apartment through the Waters Edge Hotel, with our cases. The apartments are up a rather steep hill and my mother-in-law walks with a stick, so found the hill difficult - it was therefore easier for her to come through the hotel and gardens.
The apartment itself was lovely - very clean and welcoming, with an ample supply of tea, coffee, milk and sugar! The view over Bouley Bay was amazing - each apartment has a balcony so that you can take advantage of this! The rooms were all well furnished with everything we needed - the only small complaint we had is that the information booklet was a little out of date in that it states that you could buy parking cards which are widely used in Jersey from Reception but we were told that these were no longer supplied by the hotel. However, these are widely available at many shops on the island.
We hired a car, and each apartment has a parking space of its own (although we chose to use the lower car park, due to the steep incline up to the higher one!).
The staff were very pleasant and helpful and we were made particularly welcome by the lovely lady on Reception, the Maintenance Manager and the Restaurant Manager - all of these are a definite asset to the hotel and apartments.
When you stay in one of the Waters Edge apartments, you are able to use the hotel's facilities including the lovely swimming pool, gardens, bar and restaurant. There is also an indoor games room, although we did not use this.
Overall, we would thoroughly recommend the Waters Edge apartments and would certainly visit again ourselves if we could!
