My colleagues and I were attending a meeting recently in the University of Limerick with an overnight stay with breakfast at the wonderful, peaceful "Castle Oaks Hotel" some 15 mins away from UL. The first thing that made it for me was the fire glowing in the hallway, somehow it just felt like home and the Manager Padraig assisted by his accommodaing staff gave us a wonderful reception and catered for our every need including a large client luncheon the following day which was such a success. The food and service was second to none. A huge breakfast was available next morning, full Irish or Continental, home made scones, jams, danish, juices. Very well done to all involved, Management and Catering.

Some of our colleagues who had arrived late on the evening prior to the meeting availed of the bar food and thought it was excellent with a great choice.

The Hotel landing is adorned with the most beautiful artwork and the bedrooms were only huge, housekeeping excellent and "what a view" from the windows - the wonderfully kept gardens with the Shannon flowing through.

Oh' how could I forgot "the homemade cookies" to die for!!

I would definately recommend the "Castle Oaks" and I will definately be back for "pleasure" next time round.

A Big Thank You again to Manager Padraig and your Exceptional Team. Well Done!!

I had a really warm and friendly experience dealing with the hotel in organising our Christmas party. The theme was a casino night and the deal encluded Free accomadation, all for the great value of 59 Euro. The staff on reception where very helpful especially Catherine.

There were 12 people attending the party itself in our company. Our main reason for going to the Hotel was the value and the casino theme. The little extra's such as reduced price wine per booking was a great idea along with our party being able to pick the time that we sat down for the dinner. Everyone was delighted with the choice of courses, the large amount of food and how fresh and tasty the meal turned out to be. Excellent !!!!

We partied right into the night and had the advantage of being in the holiday villas directly alongside the hotel that were large and extremely clean. We could not fault them in any way.

A few of us decided to go for to use the leisure centre the next morning, nothing like a swim to sort the head out!!!! I was surprised at having to pay 1 euro for a towel and not been told by staff that we needed a Euro coin for the lockets. The pool was really lovely and clean.
We had problems with the showers- one would only work at a time. Another surprise was that there was no socket to plug in out hair straighters. It did supply loads of hair dryers which was great.

We had lunch in the bar the next day and again found this great value with a lovely menu Yummy Chowder and heavenly chips!!!!

A big thank you to the hotel see you next Christmas!!!

We have 3 kids and wanted to have a 3 day break . We stayed in the garden suites which are 2 bedrooms with a living /dining area . The accomodation was so spacious we just settled in immediately. Each bedroom has a TV in addition to the main TV in the living area which was a big hit with all. There was an abundance of hot water and the heating system was fab.

The gym was perfect for a quick run before a dip in the pool. The kids really enjoyed the pool and it was very evident that the lifeguard was very attentive.

A meal was included in our package and we were pleasently surprised at the high quality of the food the kids meals were excellent, they said it was their "favourite restaurant ever" and we had to agree. All the staff were very courteous and helpful and the surroundings were fab even though the weather did not allow us to explore, but better luck next time we hope to go back again.

Room Tip: Love the garden suites!!

We found this hotel and its surroundings beautiful. Very relaxing. The service and food was excellent. We were there at a wedding and would recommend anyone thinking of holding a wedding reception to check this hotel out.

On arrival to the hotel we were ushered to the back to other accomadation which can only be discribe as prefabs. On booking the hotel the above picture was shown and we were very excited regarding our stay. We ended up in accomadation behind the hotel which consisted of two bedrooms which myself and my young son were forced to share with a stranger. Linen was dirty and blood stained, walls and carpet where filthy and bedside tables and wardrobe covered in dust. In our five night stay the sheets were not changed. The rooms were tiny and the tv did not work. When I complained and requested to be in the main hotel I was told there were no other rooms. The care and attention in the main hotel did not reach the other accomadation obviously. On questioning of the other guests in the main hotel I had actually paid more for my stay! This was our first visit to Ireland and the accomadation made it a terrible experience.

Room Tip: Make sure when you book you are in the main building
