Our family of 5 adults and 3 children loved staying at Angilnook. The house was charming and unusual, the large living-room accommodating us all comfortably. The garden was in constant use by children and adults alike, for football etc., while the summerhouse was particularly appreciated by myself, for quiet reflective time overlooking the beautiful Irish sea and coastline. The beach was excellent for walks, and the area was historically interesting also, we were intrigued by the ruins of an old church, reputed to have been built by St. Patrick, and the motte at Glasscarrig. A most enjoyable holiday!
This is a perfect spot for a totally relaxing holiday.
Angilnook is a fabulous holiday home to kick back and relax, whatever your age.
The toddler and four year old loved the large garden and the house being a two minute walk to the beach, the twentysomethings loved hanging out in the garden cabin overlooking the sea as well as having fires down the beach in the evenings. The grandparents loved catching up with lots of family living locally in the large lounge area which is designed to be a really social space centred around the central fireplace.
My husband loved the large variety of different beaches in the local area as well as the friendly pubs in Ballygarret and Gorey. And I loved all of the above as well as hanging out in the swinging chair whilst watching the sea...bliss!
Angilnook is a really special find, we will definitely be returning.
Quirky house sleeping 8. Bedrooms not bad size. Kitchen v small, we had two families in it & we took turns cooking & eating. One plus is the large sitting room/dining room. This has no bedrooms above it so I'd great for entertaining. If you get good weather kids can eat on picnic bench on the deck. Storage heating, once we got it working we didn't need to use any other form of heating. Lots to do in the area, walk the stoney beach, visit the graveyard & church ruin founded by St Patrick, play crazy golf in Courtown, visit the forest in Courtown, shop in Gorey, jump from the pier at Cahore & lots more.
A small negative; we had to dispose of our own rubbish & no instructions as to how to wrk the heating/TV etc & where to find things like matches/ black sacks, the bottle bank etc.
