Upon meeting locals at a Pub in the lovely seaside town of Dingle, we were directed to an area with the most scenic views called Slea Head on the Dingle Peninsula. As we were exploring this stunning coastal drive we came across a restaurant called Stonehouse. We were greeted by the very hospitable David and Pauric. They were unbelievably friendly and packed up a picnic of a delicious open face crab salad sandwich accompanied by Sauvignon Blanc recommended by Pauric. If you ever find yourself on the Slea Head area of Dingle Peninsula you must stop in at Stonehouse!

What a gorgeous location! We showed up not at the right time for lunch but scones and tea and coffee are ready and waiting and very delicious! The inside was immaculately clean and inviting. The Owner David himself served us as the season has literally begun today and staff are still settling in. He was so kind and friendly! He knew Gabriel who runs the Famine farms beside him and gave us great advice on where to head next and what not to miss. We were on a day trip from limerick and will definitely be back!

For everyone interested in a folkloric architecture its a nice place to see how they built houses in history, its all form stone even the roof, just a few meters from dingle and not far to the beach.

We visited in December so the restaurant was closed.
But the stone building - and roof - look amazing even from the outside. There is a large parking lot so I recommend you pull in to take a closer look.

We stopped in for lunch and found the food to be good and reasonably priced. Only complaint was that service was not good and we were ignored at times when we needed something. Servers were more interested in conversing with locals.
