We are a group of six older family member who travelled through Ielnd or three weeks. We stayed at Bayfield for the week of Septmber 26 through October 3rd. And what a wonderful week it was with good weather, delicious food (Try Moran's Oyster Cottage and Linnane's) and a beautiful farmhouse accommodation.
The house has five bedrooms (four en suite), a huge fully equipped kitchen with table for ten, a gliving room with fireplace, a sitting room overlooking the rustic gardens, a reading area looking out to Galway Bay. The grounds are pure country; just lovely with cows in the pastures.
From the roomy farmhouse we toured the Burren, Aillwee Caves & the Birds of Prey Center, beautiful Flaggy Shore and beyond, the charming surrounding towns, The Aran islands, and more. The week was easily filled with interesting and fun things to do in this area along the Wild Atlantic Way.
Hints: bring warm socks or slippers and a warm robe for chilly mornings. Wi-Fi only works in the kitchen and bedroom above kitchen.
We certainly recommend Bayfield as the place to stay.
