Stopped here for a Guinness while staying down the road at the Malin Hotel. It was a Friday night, and the place was standing room only, with mostly locals (although the 'tea room' was empty). A typical 'Irish bar' -- noisy, cramped, hot, lively! Lots of 'craic', very welcoming (especially the older, white-haired Irish men -- most 'older' men in Ireland seem to have all their hair, albeit white). Anyway -- the atmosphere was great, with a nice decor and outstanding service. I met some nice older gentlemen (I'm at the age where I'm 'invisible' to the younger ones, and that's fine because it would seem creepy to have someone my son's age approach me, haha).
