Beautiful Ballymaloe. Wonderful staff, beautiful rooms, spectacular grounds, great food, absolutely delightful. The staff welcomed us with tea and scones, while they prepared our room (we arrived late morning). Yummy. Then we went next door to the cafe, double yum! Then we toured the lovely grounds (there is a Palm tree in Ireland). Pears growing on the walls. Then we took a short drive to the cooking school, and the smells of the food being prepared made us drool with pleasure. For dinner and then breakfast the next day, Fawn Allen (the daughter) came to the dining room and chatted with everyone which was a pleasure. Every item on the menu is fresh and you can taste the difference. Excellent cocktails, great wines, and wonderfully brilliant cuisine. Try the Hake with Mussels, excellent. For breakfast my wife had eggs which she said were simply the best she has ever eaten. We had a garden room (Lilly Of The Valley) which opens to the grounds. Simply lovely. Great beds, wonderful bathroom. Truly excellent. With the garden rooms, the parking is just outside the hallway door, which makes moving luggage a snap. The desk was also nice enough to make a dinner reservation back in Dublin for our last night and confirmed with a text. Super! Next trip back to Ireland and we will stay again. Ballymaloe is wonderful, from start to finish!

Room Tip: Try the Lilly Of The Valley Room

Thank you so much for giving us such a wonderful review. We very much appreciate it.
We are so glad you enjoyed being with us and made the short trip to the Cookery School to have a look around there too! All of us, Cafe, Cookery School and House look forward to seeing you the next time you visit! I take it also as a compliment that you called me Fawn, she is my niece and much younger than I am!

We enjoyed a great 4 course lunch at the hotel. Then we went to the Shoppe and bakery. After a while we drove to the cookery school to have our eyes opened in sustainable harvests. The Cooking school is world famous, offers 3 month courses of study and is really a find for all travelers.

Room Tip: Did not stay, only dined.

Our stay here was impeccable.

we stayed n room 4, I believe, which had 2 lovely windows, plenty of space, a comfortable bed and a SPACIOUS bathroom. (with heated floors! and a soaking tub!)

our room was a bit stuffy, and the staff brought up 2 fans for us. perfect. thank you!
we stayed only 2 nights but it was amazing.

our breakfast was DELICIOUS, oh my god the fresh bread and butter, so amazing. I miss it. Everything was so fresh and delicious. All the food is delicious, as it should be, being a renowned cooking school, etc. haha

If you can afford it, stay here. its amazing and you wont be disappointed!

Room Tip: room 4 in the main house. view of the courtyard and relatively quiet.

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay with us in our Courtyard Room.
Our bakers are in first thing every morning to bake the Breads for Breakfast. The Butter comes from the Cookery School Farm where they make it from the Cream from the Jersey Cows.
We look forward to seeing you again.

We stayed for a night in conjunction with a Ballymaloe Cookery School gluten free course (excellent, by the way). Our room was overlooking the garden and pool, and had lovely French doors opening on to a patio. We had a minor problem with the blanket on our bed, but the staff sorted the issue quickly. In fact, all of the staff were superb and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. Breakfast was gorgeous and we particularly enjoyed the variety of fruit compotes and yogurts. My wife is Coeliac and the staff took great care to address her gluten free needs. The only real criticism is that some of the common areas have quite worn carpets, partais you walk into the reception area. Not a huge deal but with such an incredibly lovely property, it would be nice if the carpets were all in keeping with this glorious property. This is a very special place.

Can't say enough about my recent stay in Ballymaloe cottages. We got Lily Rose .. so comfortable and clean and welcoming . We ate in Ballymaloe house each night and it lived up to all our expectations ..delicious food true to Myrtles ethos full of flavour and just scrummy . Pool was heated so swam every day and treated ourselves to eating apples pears and herbs from the garden . A real haven .the staff so warm and welcoming Look out for Ann in the dining room for breakfast a true heart of gold
Hope to return soon
