First the plus side: Per our request we were assigned a room on the top floor. We were never bothered by any noise and the room slept very well. The shower and toilet are in a separate room from the sink and mirror.

The minus side: All the staff we interacted with were unfriendly (my wife suggested "snooty" and it fits.) I had the impression that because we didn't ask for valet parking and a bellhop upon first arrival then we must be unworthy of courteous treatment. The check-in process felt more like being booked at the police station. We were dismissed without being told where to find the elevators. The rooms do not include a mini-refrigerator or microwave although you can request them. The main entry doors do not automatically open and are cumbersome to negotiate with luggage. (One set of doors included the ADA-required button that opens the door.) Parking is dismal. There are a few parking slots near the main entrance but these are occupied 98% of the time. The next nearest parking is the valet parking area. Then further on is parking for us ordinary people. It is always a long walk to and from the car.

In summary, it is an acceptable room but nothing else about the place measures up to the cost. You'll do much better going elsewhere. Because of family obligations, we stay in Kingsport every 6-8 weeks. We chose the Meadowview this time due to an activity being held on premise. We'll not make that mistake again.

Immediately off an Interstate, so zero problems getting there. Seven floors of guest rooms--just remember that the 2nd floor is the main floor (I made the mistake of thinking that the 1st floor was and wandered around a bit!). All the staff were very accommodating. Example--there was only one serving of coffee for the coffee maker in the room, yet two people. When I asked a member of the cleaning crew, she gave me a plastic bag with six! During the meals (3 breakfasts and dinners) the wait staff were universally polite and helpful. The food for over 300 people was hot, plentiful and tasty. Enough for a number of folk to go back for seconds. The indoor pool and sauna were spotless, the grounds immaculate (there is a golf course for those so inclined). The bar had a nice selection of beer--the mocha stout was delicious! We didn't get to sample the restaurant's food, but the menu had a varied selection.

Room tip: The first floor rooms (really in the basement) would be my last choice.

On a drive from Texas to New York, stopped here and we really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful golf course/valley views from the room. Staff very welcoming and restaurant fairly good. Only disappointment was that in-hotel winery was closed on the day we were there.

This was a one-night road trip stay at a quality Marriott convention center / resort property. The setting is right outside of Kingsport, TN in kind of an undeveloped business park area just off the Interstate. It has a golf course that doesn't appear to get much use in August. The grounds, parking, lobby, restaurants, public areas, ballrooms and guest rooms are upscale and well-maintained. The room was updated, clean and comfortable. This property had tons of convention, ballrooms, meeting rooms, etc. It could easily accommodate multiple weddings, reunions and Gun Shows and it did the Saturday night we were there. The management wisely had a sign stating " No guns beyond this point" before entering the lobby. It's Tennessee, so it was probably ignored. Dinner, drinks and breakfast the next day were delicious. This was a nice break close to I-81.

Room tip: Avoid large group floors

The facility was exceptional. Our room was very roomy and clean. Our room was right outside the elevator and we never heard a thing. The rooms were very quiet. Extremely comfortable bed. The staff throughout the facility was outstanding. We were asked several times during our 3 day stay, as we were throughout the facility, if there was anything they could do to make our stay more pleasant. If you said anything they were on it immediately. The convention food manager gets my extra praise. She was out there in the middle of 350 diners making sure we were all happy. Not to mention the food that came out of the kitchens as a buffet did not taste like buffet food. Well done! Again the support staff was great.

Room tip: Ask for a balcony, it is worth the view.
