My husband and our three kids (ages 10,14,17) had a lovely week at the Coach House. Traveling from the US it was a great place to use as home base for a week. The kids loved the rural setting, the game room and hot tub. My husband and I loved being able to relax and enjoy our Scottish countryside home. Would definitely recommend to family and friends and would come back again.
My husband & I, our dog, our 2 friends & their dog have just returned from lovely long weekend break at The Coach House. It did not disappoint.
We were received a warm welcome from Helen & gorgeous little Harris & were shown round. The cottage is beautiful & beautifully decorated. Its much bigger than the pictures suggest which we were really surprised with.
The cottage itself is well equipped with everything you need & its very cosy. Its definitely one of our favourite holiday rentals. The beds are super comfy, the towels are soft & fluffy & the lovely white towelling robes were a lovely little touch & great for hot tub time.
The hot tub & outdoor seating area really is stunning. Sitting by the river enjoying a few drinks with the Chimnea & candles burning & fairy lights twinkling was just lovely & a highlight of our weekend as was enjoying drinks in the hot tub. The outdoor seating area is well sheltered with trees so if the weather is a bit yucky its still lovely to sit out & enjoy. We barbecued, ate outside & sat in the hot tub for hours on our first night & the weather was awful but it didn't matter, we were well sheltered & loved every minute.
The games room is great too & again much bigger than expected. The boys loved the projector screen & the full size snooker table which was great to use while enjoying a few drinks.
All in all a great relaxing long weekend & we will definitely be back.....sooner rather than later, hopefully.
Huge thanks to Helen & Ross for their hospitality x
We, a group of 2 couples, stayed in this cottage over the last week. At our arrival we were welcomed by owners Helen and Ross and their lovely children. Before our arrival, Helen recommended ordering our groceries online via Sainsbury’s in Stirling which were delivered right before we got there. Helen had already stored them in the fridge and kitchen. A great extra service! ;-). We were very impressed by the idyllic garden and cottage. The hot-tub is a great feature and we made plentiful use of it.
The surrounding area makes for some true exploring as well, with great sunsets and a stunning view of Stirling Castle and the nearby highlands.
The cottage is located close to the small town of Gargunnock and of short driving distance of a lot of touristic highlights and places to visit. During our weeks stay, we saw:
- Kilchurn Castle
- Stirling Castle (Really close!)
- Doune Castle (Also closeby)
- The Glencoe Area, including three sisters.
- Loch Lomond and the trossachs.
- St Andrews (Following the ‘Fife coastal route’
- The highlands from above, with a seaplane flight from the Cameron House in Balloch.
- Inchmahome priory
- Balquhidder (with Rob Roy’s grave)
And a lot more during our tours throughout the Highlands and surrounding area.
The cottage itself has been beautifully renovated making it a great place to stay. We even had the family cat visiting us a few times, making us feel right at home. We didn’t make much use of the games room, mostly because we were too busy exploring Scotland. However, we did play a bit of pool and ping pong. We did make a lot of use of the hot-tub though. Nothing as relaxing as taking a dip in the warm, bubbling, water after a long day. With a cold beer,a stunning view over the river and nothing but birds chirping around you.
The only remark we would have about the cottage would be the half-open door (a louvre door) between the main bedroom and its ensuite bathroom. The only toilet in the cottage is located there. And since it’s a half-open door, it can be quite uncomfortable doing your early-morning ‘business’ there, while the rest of the family is still in bed just a few meters away. ;-)
Other than that we had an amazing time there and would like to thank Helen & Ross and the kids (and cat) for their hospitality and congratulate them on owning a little piece of paradise.

Wonderful warm welcome from Helen and Ross, who went out of their way to accommodate our change of plans. This a is a charming place to stay; an old converted coach house and stables, set down a long quiet lane, next to a river. Rooms well appointed and comfortable. About a 10 min drive to Stirling, and close to some wonderful pubs- particularly enjoyed the Cross keys. Will definitely return!
We stayed with our two young children and extended family, including two teenagers. It was love at first sight! We were the first guests to trial both apartments at the cottages as we had a total of 8 people in our party plus a dog. My sister and her two teenage girls shared the 1 bed apartment and we had the larger one. Both were beautiful inside and decorated to a very high standard. The converted barn was one of the highlights of our stay and a great place to hang out and play a few games of snooker or xbox. Views of the river were stunning, with the sun setting just behind giving you a superb view all round and it was made even better if you were taking it in whilst in the hot tub! The hot tub was amazing and very much our favourite part of the stay along with the horse riding. Helen and Ross were lovely hosts and made us feel so relaxed and welcome, a lovely family. They went out of their way to ensure our stay was a memorable one and if we had even the slightest question or needed anything they were so accommodating. Lots of places to visit and things for the children to see and do, even the teenagers loved it! We will definitely be going back. What more could you ask for from a holiday other than beautiful scenery, cosy cottages and lovely people.
