“Excellent Stay”
Reviewed 29 March 2012

Stayed there with my wife and my 3 month old baby. They upgraded us to the Mediterranean suite. The room was clean ,beautiful and comfortable. The view was excellent. The hotel was quiet. We ordered a lot of in house food which is from their restaurant waterscapes , all the food was delicious.
We went to the private beach by our own rental car .It is 5 minutes by car.All in all everybody was very friendly and place was perfect for us.

Room Tip: Ask for marina view.

Thank you for sharing your recent Myrtle Beach vacation with the TripAdvisor community. The Marina Inn has a variety of accommodations to choose from and ALL rooms have views! The private oceanfront access that we provide our guests is unique in Myrtle Beach and not only is access easy to drive to but our hotel shuttle will transport you to and from the beach as well.
Thanks again and we look forward to your family's return visit!

A group of my clients met at the Marina Inn for a couple of days. The facility was perfect for us and we really appreciated the professional and courteous staff. Eddie Chaviano and Andrea Childers made it very easy for us to conduct our business meeting...great value at a great price! The meeting space was set up properly and it was easy to control the lighting which was important since we used a projector. We pre-ordered lunch off the Waterscapes menu and had our own dining room in the restaurant. The meals were charged to our individual guest rooms and the process was very smooth and without incident. We would not hesitate to return to Myrtle Beach and stay at the Marina Inn!

I will say that the hotel is beautiful. Our room was large and comfortable. Our problems came with the service.

First, we noticed a large red stain on the carpet in our room, and one of our chairs had a large rip in the upholstery, and the stuffing was coming out. When we pointed this out to the houskeeping staffperson, she acted like, "So what do you want me to do about it?" Nobody made any attempt to clean the carpet or replace the chair, which I would think would be the normal thing to do.

Later, I came back from a drive and when the valet didn't come out of the hotel after I waited for a few moments in my car, I went in and found the valet, who looked like he was surfing the internet, and asked him if I could leave the car for him to take. I told him the keys were in it, and he said, "No problem." A HALF AN HOUR LATER, I pass through the lobby on my way to lunch, and the car is still sitting in front of the hotel, WITH KEYS INSIDE AND THE ENGINE ON. The valet was still surfing the net. I asked him what was going on, and he apologized and said he would park the car right away.

Then my wife and I went to lunch. We stood for ten minutes at the front of the restaurant before anyone who worked at the hotel was even visible. The restauarant was ceary open as there were other people dining. Finally someone appeared and found us a table.

We did have experiences with the staff that were more positive, but I don't think you should encounter these kinds of problems at a hotel of this caliber, especially since there is no shortage of hotel options in Myrtle Beach.

We stayed at the Marina Inn Grande Dunes for three nights recently. The property itself is beautiful. Just off the beaten, busy path of Myrtle Beach's Route 17 the hotel is convenient to everything. The property is lovely with a grand entrance and valet parking - if you wish - or save the tip and park it yourself. The hotel foyer is quite grand with tilework and impressive chandeliers. No common registration counter here, you sit at a desk and the conscierge will check you in.
The room was fabulous. Big, luxuriously furnished with a bathroom to die for. My only complaint would be that the shower's water pressure was a little weak and the bathroom exhaust fan a little too noisy. Wed had a room on the fourth floor with lovely views and a small balcony. The room had an ample-sized refrigerator and a separate make-up area, which I used and appreciated.
Additional facilities are located on the lower level, which included a pool and work out room. Nothing over-the-top - basic and functional. The rest of that level is devoted to a ballroom and conference rooms.
I walked around the property every morning (6:30 a.m.) and felt perfectly safe. The attached marina is a plus for esthetic purposes - it's just real pretty.
Ruth Chris' Steak House is adjacent to the parking lot and there are a couple of small eateries/bars in the hotel itself. I, personally, found the front desk to be more aloof than personable. I walked by several times a day and no one ever smiled or said hello - something I have come to expect from a stay in Carolina. The friendly parking valets were much more approachable.
All in all, a well- appointed, beautiful place to stay!

Room Tip: The higher up, the better the view.

We stayed just before the spring breakers invaded. The price, room, & location were nice (but, do rent a car--we didn't but should have!). Unfortunately, a few of the "seasonal" places on site were closed. The "spa" is a workout room & pool, not traditional spa (massages, etc) although they offer in-room services from outside company. They have shuttle van but unclear for whom it is used. We asked for a ride to nearby places (<2 mi) and were told they would call a cab. But, then saw & heard the shuttle picking people up from the Marriott nearby?!?

Hello Rdido.

Thank you for sharing your experience during your recent visit at the Marina Inn. We apologize that your experience with our service was less than expected.

It appears that you did not receive enough information on what shuttle services we provide. Our shuttle provides transportation only to areas located on Grande Dunes which includes two golf courses, tennis, and our beach access. Although we strive to communicate this as well as the seasonal days and hours of the beach, restaurants, etc. on our website; moving forward we will do a better job communicating these services to our guests at check-in.

And yes, early March is a great time to vacation here since occupancy levels are not quite as high and it is just before most families with their children vacation for their spring break.

Our location is definitely not in the middle of all of the busy activity that Myrtle Beach has to offer so if you are looking to visit many of the Myrtle Beach area attractions, it is best to rent a car.

Thanks again Rdido for sharing your visit with us. We hope that you will consider a future visit to Marina Inn!
