Travania is a nice Italian restaurant located in the Market Commons, a shopping, dining, and entertainment complex several miles back from the ocean, south of Myrtle Beach proper, near the airport. We arrive a little before 9 PM after driving all day from NJ, so we were glad that they were open until 10 PM. The fact that Travania uses fresh ingredients was evident in the dishes that we sampled. We had their crispy calamari, which was good but the dish contained as many peppers as calamari. We especially liked the prosciutto & fig flat bread, which presented a great combination of flavors. The baked chicken cannelloni was very tasty and plentiful — we had leftover the next day!
One negative about our visit was the live music. Maybe I just wanted a little quite after a long drive, but the volume was too loud for conversation with others at the table. Fortunately, the singer's gig was over shortly after our food arrived, allowing use to have a pleasant dinner.
