“Beautiful, dont miss the river boat tour!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

Wonderful gardens, great boat tour and I liked the animals. It was nice to see that they gace homes to needy animals and the rescued birds being cared for in the zoo instead of ones that could be free.

“Beautiful southern garden”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

The entrance pass is good for several days which helps because there is so much to see, it's nice to not have to cram it all in one day. Our first day, we attended a talk on the Gullah culture which was fun and informative both. We then attended a "meet the animals" program and meet some local fauna including a beautiful red tailed hawk and cute possum. We took the low country walk and visited the plantation farm animals, otters, and the aviaries. The wetland aviary is especially cool because you get to see the birds very close up as you walk through the wetlands. The second day, we took a tour of the formal gardens with our guide, Don..........again informative and fun. There are incredibly beautiful old trees covered with Spanish moss and Resurrection Fern. The
gardens with the sculpture are beautiful any time of year but I would love to see them again in the Spring and Summer when there are more flowers blooming.

“Beautiful and Peaceful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

We went in May, when things were just really starting to bloom & come into shape. We spent at least two hours roaming around the grounds. It was truly beautiful and I would absolutely go back. We did not do the canoe ride or any of the "special events," but I don't feel like I missed out on much. I told my boyfriend that next time we go back it would be a perfect place to get down on one knee... ;)
