Great stay, friendly staff, well-equipped rooms, comfortable bed. The blackout curtains worked so was able to sleep in without the glare of the morning sun. Nicely equipped fitness center. restaurant/ bar area comfortable and well decorated.

The 3rd floor we stayed on things were left out in the hallway for half the day, old towels, food crumbs, vacuum cleaners. The room we stayed in with a king bed didnt have a microwave or minifridge which is big when people are vacationing for more than a couple days. Coffee in the lobby was stocked, two mornings went down for two cups and only had enough coffee for 1 cup. One of the electrical outlets in the room had a issue which may present a fire or shock hazard. On the plus side the staff was very friendly and the Wi-Fi worked really good, but the other things had me wanting to change hotels. My wife insisted that she was fine with it after a night in the hotel but we will not be returning. For a hotel so close to Charleston, you expect to have a more relaxing place to stay when you hear holiday inn and this was not our experience.

We stopped here en route to our final destination to enjoy Charleston's vibe and foodie venue with another couple. This location was ideal to enjoy the city at about 1/2 the price of staying in the city proper. An easy Uber ride if you want to drink or not worry about navigating some narrow streets or the challenge of parking in town. Staff was friendly, rooms were nice and clean and location to eateries in both Charlestown and Mt Pleasant was excellent. Would stay here again

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel as part of a group organized trip. The experience was one of the worst we have had at a hotel. The hotel's website said it had a bar and grill. Upon arrival at the bar we asked for the dinner menu. The bartender pointed out the menu had changed and some items were not available. More people arrived in the bar area and the bartender announced only a limited menu would be available. When asked he said that meant fried food such as hamburgers and chicken fingers. More people arrived and he then announced no food would be served. Not a good thing for a bus load of folks especially since there were no restaurants in reasonable walking distance. The size of the group should not have been a surprise for the hotel's management since the reservations had been made for a long time. The only things that kept the situation from being an ugly disaster were first the bartender, Wesley Castelhano who was fantastic. Not only did he effectively single-handedly serve almost 30 unhappy campers and deliver unpleasant news but he managed to maintain his sense of humor. Secondly, this was a group of older military-affiliated people - many years of the ups and downs of military life taught them to "roll with the punches". On the plus side, Wes and/or the hotel ended up providing the drinks free of charge which helped deal with the disappointment of no food service. While the first night was a letdown, nothing much about the hotel was an improvement. The staff (except for Wes, of course) ranged from somewhat friendly to surly. The bath towels were gray, old and had hairs on them. The window curtains were torn. The clock radio was broken and blinked all night. There was no cream and sugar for the coffee in the room. We had a separate group breakfast buffet and the fresh fruit was very good. The second day there was no fruit and when I asked about it, the reply was "we just didn't cut any". Seemed to us no one "was in charge" at the hotel. Someone in our group said the hotel had been sold. If this is the case that would partially explain our bad experience. However, the Holiday Inn logo was on the building and we will think long and hard before we stay at a Holiday Inn.

The hotel is situated just on the Mount Pleasant side of the bridge which means quick and easy access to Charleston but a more quiet setting than staying in Charleston. While we were there, the hotel hosted both a marketing conference, spring break travelers, and a crowd of college students attending a formal. Despite all the activity, the hotel never felt crowded and we never heard noise. All areas were clean and comfortable. The staff were courteous and helpful throughout our stay. I would definitely consider this hotel again on a return trip to the area.
