This property was nice and quiet. The bed was comfortable and I enjoyed the peaceful sleep. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Loved the pancake making machine. Just place your plate by it and it does all the work. Loved the cinnamon rolls!

Stayed at the hotel for two nights (a Friday and a Saturday). It was ok. The room was decent. Coffee maker, microwave, hair dryer, iron, safe. It was good for two nights, but not sure if I would want to stay longer. Our balcony faced the parking lot, and it was very noisy.

Room tip: Try to stay away from a parking lot balcony - very noisy.

This is a typical Holiday Inn Express. Our accommodations were roomy with nice beds, towels, & toiletries. The hot breakfast was good & plentiful. Our stay went very well. Our only criticism was that the front desk staff never provided any local tourist information that could have made our stay more enjoyable. The island is intentionally kept muted, as far as lighting goes, to help with the animal habitats. It is a confusing place to get around. The detailed maps were out of sight. Even when we asked for directions to a locale, a verbal explanation was given with a "you can't miss it" reply. Just handing us a map would have answered all our questions. That being said, BE SURE TO ASK FOR THE LOCAL, DETAILED MAP UPON CHECK-IN!!!

We are delighted that you found your accommodations to your liking and that you enjoyed our Island that we call Home! Im disappointed that our Front Desk "team" could not provide the information needed as we have plenty of magazines, material to help explore this amazing Island along with the Guest Service Representative located in the Hotel Lobby.

When travel brings you back to the Island we hope we may serve you once again.

We ended up at this hotel because a hurricane changed our original beach plans in Florida, so we booked here last minute. The price was right and the reviews were decent. Overall we don't regret it but are not likely to return.

The hotel had a big renovation recently that updated a lot of things, but not everything. The pool is OK, but there are no bathrooms around it. The hotel hallways are open to the elements, so our door was always dripping condensation. The AC in the room didn't seem to care what the thermostat was set to- it was always either an ice box or too hot. The TV in the room is huge, and the decor is modern. The room space is a bit cramped- we had a rollaway bed and had to stack furniture in the room in order to squeeze the rollaway in between a bed and the outside wall. The door to the balcony was clearly not replaced in the renovation and was extremely difficult to move. It also sat cockeyed so we had to use two people to close it. The lobby is a separate building from the hotel, but not too far. The breakfast was very good, but a bit busy.

The hotel is a block from the beach. Not terrible, but a pain to drag all the beach stuff. We ended up driving to the Coligny area so we didnt have to drag stuff so far. The beaches in this area are very nice but fairly crowded.

There was a Palmera 'vacation club' presentation rep in the hotel lobby who promised me it wasn't a timeshare and we would get a guaranteed two night stay at a beachfront property for attending a vacation presentation. Neither were true- we did the presentation and the sales rep told me it is DEFINITELY a timeshare and that the two nights are space available at a limited subset of properties. We had to pay a $20 deposit when we arranged the presentation that they promised to refund, but they instead gave us a visa gift card in return. The pitch wasn't too high pressure but they do bring you to another person to apply more pressure when you say no. No matter how nice these vacation club people seem (here or elsewhere), they are shady and tell you whatever you want to hear so they make their commission.

This hotel is a good place to stay if you want a reasonable value for an OK stay. If you are looking for a 'nice' place, I recommend looking around a little further.

Thank you for your review on TripAdvisor with regards to your stay at the Holiday Inn Express, Hilton Head Island, SC.

You are correct that the Hotel has been renovated and appreciated by many of our Guests. Adding a roll-away to a two queen room will not provide adequate space as on your next visit reach out to us so that we can provide adjoining rooms for all your Guests.

We do offer a free Shuttle during Breakfast hours from the Hotel to the reception area as many do enjoy the short walk to observe the grounds with it's beautiful nature surroundings. During Peak Seasons (Memorial Day through Labor Day) the Shuttle also provides service to and from the Beach, Shopping and restaurants but please note we do offer staff operated 12 passenger carts for your service.

The Guest Service Representatives in the Hotel Lobby are only there to offer their services for dining, activities, shopping as you are never obligated to particpate into a agreement to purchase as that is optional by the Guest!

We do hope that we are allowed to have you as a return Guest when travel takes you back to Hilton Head Island, SC.

Sincerely,

Ron Tamburri

We were a little confused when we arrived. It would have helped if we were told that the hotel and parking is around the corner to the right at the parking deck but with that said The STAY WAS VERY NICE, the staff was pleasant and the breakfast was great. The beach access and walking distance to ALOT of places was very close. so rent a bike and have fun. The rooms were avg. and the decor was nice, the only thing not cool was the humidity, the room door actually sweat daily. This is a place we will stay again Thanks GA, Jackson's
