My wife and I decided to spend our 2nd Anniversary in Hilton Head, SC. During research, we found the Sonesta Resort. Our expectations were far exceeded. The staff was terrific. The hotel was very well maintained. The room was great! Honestly, we didn't even want to leave the hotel during the day because it was so comfortable and enjoyable. We are planning a trip back soon with our kids when the weather is warm and we can enjoy the beach. We recommend the Sonesta to anyone, especially families.

This is probably the best hotel experience I've had in many years. The hotel was absolutely beautiful, the valet, front desk, concierge and restaurant staff were all top notch. Great bar in the lobby. Pool was perfect, and beach was footsteps away. Couldn't have asked for more.

Sonesta Hilton Head is the perfect place to stay. Their service is friendly and the facilities welcoming and attractive. Few times I have encountered such a caring staff. I will definitely be visiting the Sonesta family more often.

This was our time visiting Hilton Head and we really liked it. We stayed at the Sonesta for two nights between Christmas and New Years. We drove all night from New Jersey and arrived at the resort around 6 am. We were exhausted and luckily the lady at the front desk gave us our room right away (we really didn't expect that but it was such a welcomed surprise).

Overall we found the resort to be great. Our room (first floor facing the front parking lot) was large and very clean. We didn't have a view of anything but bushes and people walking their dogs, but that didn't really bother us since we weren't in the room for long.

Parking was readily available and all the employees that we encountered were great.

Our only complaint would be the amount of dogs on the premises. There must have been a dog(s) in the room next to ours because both mornings we were woken around 6am to the sounds of dogs barking.

We also had a minor issue at checkout - I had originally prepaid our stay through Hotels.com but then was charged again at checkout. I was only supposed to be charged a resort fee at checkout but ended up being charged the entire stay again. I contacted the hotel and my bank and the issue was resolved within a few days.

Other than that, awesome stay. Nice grounds - especially loved the hammocks and fire pits! Easy access to the beach and loved that they had a bike rental on site.

Room Tip: Maybe ask for a room away from rooms occupied by people with dogs

We just returned after spending 6 days at this resort. The resort has apparently undergone a complete facelift and according to security personnel every room in the resort has been redone. The room we stayed in was simple but adequate with a shared balcony overlooking the pool. It offers good value and is right next store to the Van Der Meer tennis centre. The proximity works well as there is a covered walkway between the two buildings. I did eat breakfast in the restaurant and the food was good and the service was polite but very slow. I love soft fluffy towels and Sonesta delivered on this fetish perfectly. For the price it is quite adequate.
