We found the Jazz Corner by accident several years ago and it has been one of our "must do" activities every time we are on the island since. Last night we enjoyed the showtune jazz of Lamar and Louise wile dining on gourmet fare and sitting in muted elegance surrounded by original artwork. As always the service was superb and understated, the food impeccably prepared and presented in hearty attractive portions. Hubby had the blackened grouper served on a bed of crispy grits finished with tasso gravy. I enjoyed ahi tuna (med rare) finished with a wasabi/ginger soy and served with smashed new potatoes and fresh julienned vegetables. I chose a Baileys Irish Cream creme brule for dessert while DH had a vanilla caramel custard cake finished with raspberry coulis. Although the meals are a bit pricey- the food is top notch and coupled with the fact that you get a full length live jazz show- the evening is a good value. The band leaders talk to the audience and on some occasions including last night even invite guest musicians to the stage. The owner is committed to keeping the arts- esp. jazz alive in the schools and the appreciation of same in the youth of the area. Sometimes they run specials- we got a coupon for a free entree with the purchase of another- via their emailing newsletter which we get all year. Reservations are highly recommended as the venue is intimately small. BONUS- the establishment is nonsmoking, so you can enjoy the closeness, music and food without the smoky blue haze often prevalent in jazz clubs. Go and enjoy- you will be back
