“Beautiful bridge”

Beautiful bridge but lights were never on when we visited. I would not say this is a tourist destination! We drove across it to Mt Pleasant though several times. People do walk across the bridge (for exercise). There is a nice path for pedestrians all the way across. It’s about 5-10 minutes drive from historic district though. Leads to Mt pleasant.

When we lived in Charleston I had made it a Sunday afternoon tradition to walk across and walk back. Yes, it takes a while to do, but it is totally worth it. Just take your time. The view is spectacular. Once you get to the middle of the bridge they have a few places to stop and sit. This is a great place to watch the ships come into the ports. If you haven’t walked across, you have no idea what you’re missing. Very peaceful, very therapeutic.

Our best view of the bridge was from the deck of the carrier at Patriots Point. You can get a really nice photo from their. The bridge is beautiful with very nice lines. It lights up nicely at night. Heavy traffic at rush hour.

Very nice structure that replaced a bridge that many people were terrified of. The view is stunning, just don't get distracted while driving!

On our way out of town we drove from Charleston to Patriot Point and back to get the bridge-view of the city. It was fun but I would NOT do this during AM or PM rush hour....
