I love Charleston. There is a wonderful collection of boutique hotels and this is one of them. Location is very central to downtown. Tons of shopping, dining and tourist activities within walking distance. The lobby is off an alleyway and has a great secluded feel to it. Parking (notoriously tough here) is a breeze. The rooms are a mixture of sizes and orientations. My suite was huge and the bathroom was wonderful if just a tad dated. My only gripe? Canopy bed was a tad creaky. Only complaint at all, really.

Going to the Holy City? Stay here. The location, the accommodations, the parking, the staff, the delivered to your room continental breakfast, the vino at 5pm, the sherry in the evening....how much more can I say??? I have million point status with numerous hotel groups and this property is my "go to" domicile in Charleston. You will LOVE this place.

My wife and I have stayed here a number of times over the past two years. Within the past year the rooms and baths hrave been redecorated . It was very nice before but the recent upgrades make the accommodations most appealing and comfortable.
The King Street location close to great restaurants and shopping as well as the Charleston Market House make this 100 year old hotel a perfect place to stay in Charleston. Also a very friendly and helpful staff.

This was a last minute reservation and it turned out very nice indeed. Within three blocks of the city market and the river front is only a couple streets further.
The Staff is friendly and helpful, the wine and cheese reception is a welcome way to unwind after driving.
The king size bed was comfortable and the room dark. Very nice stay.
The only complaint, very minor so did not mark them down for it, was the hot water in the shower was reversed, hot was cold and cold hot.

The central location along King Street allowed us to walk to almost everything that we did while in town and worked out great. Our room was on the parking lot side in the back of the building, and the whole visit was very quiet. The room was clean, good-sized and well-appointed. Staff was mostly very friendly. The city was shutting off the water one morning to do some maintenance. We had not been informed when checking in, but thankfully a different concierge double-checked on our way in the night before to make sure that we were aware. The in-room continental breakfast feature was very convenient to get some basic sustenance to start the day. The staff also stored our luggage since we arrived a bit early and were departing well after check-out. This made us a little nervous since it was kept in a room that also functioned as space for their evening wine reception, but it all worked out fine.
