Had a good stay at this hotel. Check-in staff were very friendly and helpful. the room was clean, functional and up-to-date. Personally, I found the decor a bit too utilitarian and dorm-like, but my wife liked it.

The room was large and the beds fairly comfortable. Everything worked and there was good water-pressure.

The breakfast room was spacious, and the options were decent, though there were no waffles and less options than some of the completion.

Overall, we had a good stay here. It is a decent mid-range hotel, certainly neither budget nor luxury, though the price for our room was a budget price.

The wife and I booked here so that we could park the car and shuttle to and from the Charleston Cruise Port. The "Don't Miss the Boat" option offered by this hotel saved us plenty of money for parking which is $17.50 per day at the cruise port and our one night stay was very good as well.

The hotel has obviously just undergone major renovations and the room we had on the 3rd Floor was immaculate. I could tell the mattress was new since it was a little firm, but obviously time will take care of that. Everything else in the room also appeared to be new or upgraded and the bathroom was spotless with plenty of hot water in the shower.

In the morning, we had a typical Holiday Inn breakfast consisting of plenty of carbs as well as the usual hot choices of eggs, sausage, and pancakes/waffles. So, the breakfast was nothing spectacular, but had enough choices to satisfy both of us. We then caught the shuttle and made it to the port without any problems and the return trip after our cruise was uneventful as well.

So, If you happen to be going on a cruise out of Charleston, this newly renovated hotel will be more than adequate for an overnight stay and will save you a substantial amount of money on parking at the port.

Thank you for your comments. We are happy that you were able to take advantage of our "Don't Miss the Boat" cruise package. It takes all of the hassle from the pre-cruise experience since the package includes your room, a complimentary hot breakfast, complimentary parking for your car while you are on the cruise, and then transportation to and from the cruise ship. All enjoyment, and no stress! We hope you had a wonderful time on your cruise!

While showering at 9:00am with "do not disturb" tag out, maid tries to enter room. Latch prevents entry. Moments later security bangs on door demanding my name. Checkout an hour later: manager doesn't get off phone to apologize, clerk won't give receipt for zero balance on my credit card.

Room Tip: Use the door latch to lock out hotel staff while you are inside room!

We do apologize for your experience. Apparently when you asked to change your room from the room that had been assigned to you, there was a computer glitch that did not allow that room change to go through in our system. In other words, our system reflected that you were still in your first room, 104. The room to which you had been moved was still showing as vacant. When our housekeeper found someone in a room that we showed to be vacant, she asked "security" to go up to ascertain who was in room. Our General Manager did indeed want to speak with you to apologize, but was on a conference call at the time. She shortened her call and went up to the front desk, but found that you did not want to wait for her and had already left. Your reservation was made through a 3rd party booking company, so we did not have a receipt to give you. The receipt comes to you from the company with whom you booked, as we do not even know the rate that they charged you. That is true at all hotels as regarding receipts for reservations made through Expedia, Priceline, Booking.com, etc. Again, we do sincerely apologize for the confusion, and hope that you will stay with us again, so that we may show you that this was indeed an isolated incidence.

We booked this Holiday Inn because of location. It is very convenient to drive from hotel to downtown locations. Mall is across the street, many eating places close by. The hotel is very nice & clean, & the staff is very helpful & accomodating.

We stopped in to view the solar eclipse in totality. Front desk was great both days, very helpful and efficient.

Very nice room (we were in a king leisure).....comfortable bed. We were in room 104, close to the exit door to the parking lot.

Ms B. ran the breakfast room on our first day....super efficient. They had biscuits and gravy....bacon.....sausage patties....pastries....fruit......juices and milk.....cheese omelets......Everything was great, and hot.

We will stay here again.
