We are local and I still make a special trip to go visit! My kids love to go and even when I’m riding alone I’ll drive by to see it. It really is the most amazing thing to see. Especially to think it’s just someone’s yard and they did this themselves. Totally worth the drive if you aren’t local you won’t be disappointed.

Off the beaten path, but well worth a visit if you travel anywhere nearby. The topiaries, and the junk art scattered throughout the garden, are wonderful and Mr. Fryar is delightful!

We had been there before but this time we just drove by because it was cold. Takes just a few minutes and it is truly a work of art.

The beauty of what this man has transformed his yard and the lot next door into over the years can't be described. He is world famous for what he has done (had a documentary made about him called "A Man Named Pearl" and he is nearly always in the yard talking to his visitors about his project as well as his philosophy on life. Well worth a visit.

A sign on the main road leads to the the garden the end of a small street in a residential area. The first part of the street is nothing exceptional until one comes upon Mr. Fryar's house which is surrounded by his fantastical creations. The large lot abounds with his masterpieces both topiary plants and sculptures. It is a peaceful spot and one can roam around taking in the beauty of the place. There is no entrance fee but donations can be given. There is a large parking area opposite the house that can accommodate RVs. Interestingly all the properties past Mr. Fryar's have emulated his efforts and some beautiful creations are displayed.
We had the opportunity to meet and chat with Mr. Fryar which was worth the trip itself. He is a very interesting man who sponsors students scholarships to a technical college and has also been a motivational speaker at Harvard and Berkeley.
