My wife and I stayed at The Beaufort Inn for a few nights on our travels through the low country. We were fortunate to get one of the new rooms on the first floor in one of their newest buildings (The inn actually compromises multiple buildings on a full city block). The room was large, well appointed and very comfortable. My wife later said that it had the most comfortable bed on our trip. Another nice feature was the multiple courtyards with comfortable (nap worthy) furniture placed amongst the various buildings. We appreciated the warm welcome and helpful advice upon check-in.
The location is excellent, well within the historic area of Beaufort, close to shopping, restaurants and other tourist locations.
Why four stars and not five? Prior to arrival my wife called to ask about the availability of a hair dryer in our room. The person who answered seemed rather brusk and putout about having to answer the question. On our first night the room was quiet, but as the inn filled up on the next night there seemed to be noise easily transferred from nearby room or rooms.
