We had intended to stay with friends locally and that situation didn't work out at the last minute, so we found the Beaufort Inn kind of by accident - very happy we did! We had a small dog with us, and some of the cottages are pet-friendly so we ended up there. The property is deceptive from the street, it does not look nearly as big as it is, but it's filled with old world southern charm.... a small courtyard in the back, brick-paved walkways, wrought iron details, just lovely! The staff (Jackie and Ebony) could not have been nicer or more helpful. Very nice place to stay, close to the main street, restaurants and shops, would definitely stay here again when in the area.

It was a happy accident for us as well. The Beaufort Inn occupies a full city block with rooms in what once were homes or businesses. A lovely maze of courtyards and gardens flows through the interior of the property connecting all of the buildings. We will be sure to tell Jackie and Ebony how much you appreciated their service.

We stayed in one of the cottages - had a separate living area and front porch - very comfortable! Walk to downtown Beaufort to several excellent restaurants. Lots of nice shops. In the center of historic district - enjoy the waterfront and the historic sights. Beautiiful little town!

Room Tip: Cottage was great!

The Port Republic Cottages are very comfortable with the added space of the front sitting room. They also offer the feeling of staying in your own little house and just easily walking out of your front door to go enjoy all that the town of Beaufort has to offer. Next time you come, be sure to request the Port Republic Cottage again.

My sister has stayed many times. We decided to see what all the buzz was. She's right! Its beautifully decorated with attention to the period of the home. Comfortable beds, lovely serene sitting areas.

Room Tip: We stayed in the cottages - just fine

Unfortunately it rained the evening we were there so we could not really explore the city. The hotel itself was terrific. The room was large and clean. The personnel were knowledgeable and friendly.
If you have mobility issues ask for a first floor or elevator access.

We hope you will come back on a sunny day so you can easily enjoy all that Beaufort has to offer. The Beaufort Inn is within easy walking distance to shops, galleries, restaurants, and our beautiful waterfront park. Lots to see and do next time - see you then.
